This is how I scrape ANYTHING on the internet. After testing...

After testing multiple workflows for client projects, I’ve found the most efficient method for scraping.
THREAD BELOW.
First, sign up at Apify and explore the Apify Store, where you’ll find pre-built scrapers for platforms like Google, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
Example: Need LinkedIn profile data? Use the LinkedIn Profile Scraper:
- Enter the profile URLs you want to scrape.
- Configure parameters according to the instructions.
- Run the scraper and access the results.
Let’s automate the scraping process:
- Create an account on Make
- Start a new scenario and search for the Apify Module.
- Authenticate using your Apify API key.
Define what you want to scrape (e.g., LinkedIn profiles) and save the scenario to trigger scrapers on-demand.
Once the scraper completes, retrieve and filter the data:
- Add the "Watch Actor Runs" module to monitor when the scraping finishes.
- Use the "Get Dataset Items" module to fetch data like profile names, descriptions, and other fields.
Filter the results in Make to keep only relevant data, like excluding incomplete profiles.
Want to enrich the scraped data?
Integrate OpenAI GPT into your workflow:
- Use it to summarize, rewrite, or analyze the data.
- Example Prompt: “Summarize this LinkedIn profile description in one sentence: [description].”
Now, you have cleaned and meaningful insights instead of raw data.
Organize your results in a spreadsheet:
- Add the Google Sheets module in Make.
- Map your fields (e.g., "Profile Name," "Summary").
This step ensures your data is neatly structured and ready for analysis.
Here’s where Make shines:
- Schedule scrapers to run automatically - daily, weekly, or on-demand.
- Add Slack or email notifications to alert you when the scraping is complete.
Automation turns a tedious manual process into an efficient workflow.
Let’s say you’re analyzing competitors:
- Use Apify to scrape their LinkedIn profiles.
- Filter out irrelevant companies in Make.
- Add GPT to summarize their services or extract key data.
- Export everything to Google Sheets for your records.
From start to finish, you’ve collected and processed actionable insights, automatically.
Take this process to the next level:
- Playwright Integration: Log in to websites programmatically and scrape protected pages.
- APIs for Analysis: Use sentiment analysis or trend detection APIs to derive deeper insights.
- Multi-Platform Scraping: Combine scrapers for Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn into one seamless flow.
Using Make and Apify, you can scrape and process almost anything on the internet.
From lead generation to competitor analysis, this workflow is scalable, flexible, and beginner-friendly.
