#BKDK #dkbk + angst

Not Katsuki having a day off, but Izuku having to work a shift. The last thing Izuku had said to kacchan before leaving for the agency was "Bye, Kacchan! Love you! Thanks for lunch!" and a grumpy Kacchan reminding Izuku to at least try to get home safely.
2
Turns out, most of the shift was slow. So slow, izuku was a little confused as he found himself sitting on the edge of a nice building eating lunch. The weather was good, the sky was clear. No villains on his route.

It was shaping up to be a peaceful shift.
3
But of course, like anything, that jinxed it. Because as soon as Izuku had finished lunch, he was called in to a villain attack. The villain, a rampaging man with a quirk called 'shudder' was shaking buildings, cars, anything around him.
4
According to a developing police report, Izuku heard that the man was angry and lashing out because his soon to be ex-wife left him, taking their six year-old child with her. He'd come home to them both gone with only a note saying she'd had enough of his abusive ass and was -
5
- leaving him and taking their child with her. It wasn't a new story, nor was the rampaging of the abusive and angry spouse new either. It was sad though. Still, Izuku did what he had to as a hero, and jumped into the fray.
6
The thing about civilians who lashed out with their quirks is that they weren't trained, so the damage they could do when lashing out, especially with such a dangerous quirk, was sometimes far greater than a fighting a villain could do.
7
It took a bit of finesse and black whip, but Izuku was finally able to slap quirk cuffs on the guy and knock him out. Unfortunately a few businesses, an apartment complex, and a mini-grocery store had collapsed, or half-collapsed as a result.
8
Still, izuku was a hero, and after escorting the villain into the police car to be taken away, he'd flashed the reporters a smile, before turning to help with the cleanup and civilian rescue, since there were reports of civilians being trapped in these buildings.
9
Fortunately, other than a few scrapes and bruises, Izuku was perfectly fine, and with black whip, clearing the rubble was a bit less difficult.

He hoped Kacchan hadn't seen the news, he knew his boyfriend would be angry and worried about him for this, but Izuku was fine!
10
A few minutes later, as Izuku removed a pile of rubble in the grocery store, the icecream aisle, he noted, he amended that statement.

He was not fine.
11
In a small corner of the space he freed up was a bloody and banged up Kacchan, sweating profusely and wiping his hands on his pants as he told the pregnant woman before him "Push, dammit!"

Izuku quickly rushed to Kacchan's side "Kacchan!" he yelped.
12
Katsuki barely spared him a glance "Shut the hell up Deku, we need paramedics, ya ain't gonna be able to carry her. She's in active labor." Izuku nodded frantically "R-righ!"

With a flash of green, he was off, racing to grab a paramedic... or five.
13
They may have learned how to delivery a baby in an emergency during heroics, but actually doing it? Well, even if Kacchan's sweat weren't explosive, Izuku would probably have been doing the same thing, or he'd be even more stressed.
14
When all was said and done though, a healthy baby boy was delivered, and as Izuku helped carry woman and baby to the back of an ambulance, he smiled reassuringly at her.

Exhausted, the woman asked "Excuse me?" Izuku blinked and said "Yes?"
15
"That man that was helping me, he-"
Izuku cut the woman off and said "Ah, he's a hero! DynaMight, you might have heard of him? Today was supposed to be his day off, but-"

The woman shook her head "N-No I just- tell him thank you? He shielded me when the building came down."
16
Izuku tried not to frown. He knew Kacchan would do something like that, but- he couldn't help but worry that he'd been hurt.

"- And I saw him g-get hit a few times with the rubble. I-" Izuku laid her on the bed in the ambulance.
17
Reassuringly, he said "I'll go check on him. Thank you for telling me." Stepping out of the ambulance, he looked around, hoping to see Kacchan had managed to crawl out from the rubble already.

There was no sign of Katsuki.
18
Panic gripped izuku, and without thinking, he ran right back in, searching for where he'd left Kacchan.

Fortunately, Kacchan was there, slumped on the floor.

Izuku felt his heart stop.

"KACCHAN!"
19
Racing to his boyfriend's side, he was quick to check for a pulse, feeble but there.

It didn't take much for Izuku to burst out of the rubble carrying his unconscious boyfriend to the nearest ambulance, deciding it would take too long and rushing to the nearest hospital.
20
Now here he sat at Kacchan's bedside, hours later.

Fractured ribs that had eventually broken and nicked a lung. Internal bleeding from other injuries, fractures in his hands from quirk overuse and lifting heavy rubble. Plus a head injury.

Izuku bit back a sob.
21
It was Kacchan's day off! He was supposed to be safe!

He wasn't supposed to be at the supermarket buying some stupid fucking All Might ice cream he'd thought Izuku might like.

He'd give up a million All Might ice creams for Kacchan to be safe.
22
Sniffling into Kacchan's bandaged hand, he said "You shouldn't have been there Kacchan." God, he hated this. Kacchan being injured with no villain to fight, no one to talk to.

He hated the waiting.

He just wanted Kacchan to be okay!
23
Aunt Mitsuki and Uncle Masaru were out of town for work, but they'd heard from Izuku about Katsuki and had promised to come back on the next flight out.

Izuku wasn't sure when he fell asleep at Kacchan's bedside, but when he did, he had nightmares of Kacchan dying.
24
Come morning, Izuku jerked awake, realizing he'd fallen asleep at Kacchan's bedside.

Relief came in the form of hazy red eyes glaring at him.

"Kacch-"

"Fuck you, I delivered that baby. You ain't stealing that credit."
25
Izuku laughed wetly "I wouldn't dream of it. Healthy baby boy by the way."

Katsuki nodded, voice raspy and throat dry, "Mm."

Izuku, as if suddenly remembering, jumped to his feet and hurriedly rushed to feed Katsuki a few ice chips, if only to help with his dry mouth.
26
After a few more moments of ice chips, and quietly soaking in his kacchan being awake, albeit a little drugged from the pain meds, Izuku thought to call for a nurse. Kacchan's bandaged hand on top of his own stopped him.
27
"Delivering a baby in the field is terrifying. Those classes were shit." Katsuki smirked hazily at his boyfriend.

Teary eyed, izuku laughed quietly. Pressing a kiss to Katsuki's bandaged forehead as he pressed the nurse call button-

"I think you did just fine, Kacchan."
28
//End

The baby gets Katsuki's name, or at least a version of it. It's the mother's way of saying thanks for saving her & her baby, and for helping to deliver her son.

Katsuki does not send her a DynaMight themed baby onesie, despite what Deku thinks.

He totally did send one.
