What's missing: there has never been an easier, more enjoyable time to be the educated mother of young children.
My wife is quite intelligent with a degree from a flagship public uni. Her mom's group, all with 2 or more children had similar backgrounds - and they had a blast.

They think the Heartland is uneducated yokels living on farms (nothing wrong with farmers!). They think SAHMs are not particularly intelligent domestic drudges, who lack the education to pursue a better life

Meanwhile, some of the best qualities of life in the world are being lived right here. These lives are invisible to many of those who can't access that quality of life, but nonetheless see themselves as "superior beings".
