#taekookau where everyone believes Jungkook, the popular jock, and...

Jeon Jungkook and Kim Sara are /besties/.
However, everyone assumes they’re dating, secretly, judging by their consistent hangouts and sleepovers.
Truth is, he’s actually in love with Sara’s /older brother/, a tall burly firefighter that tops him whenever he comes over.
lmk what u think and we’ll get started soon! 🫧 curiouscat.live/generickoo
Taehyung kisses Jungkook like he’s precious.
So tenderly, so softly. The broadness of his figure pressing the boy deeper into the mattress while he brushes strands of his damp permed hair away from his face.
Because Taehyung is only ever soft for him.
Jungkook puffs out a few breaths when they part for two seconds, before their lips mould back together again and again. And /again/.
Because Taehyung is soft, but only when he wants to be.
Because Jungkook kisses Taehyung like he wants to drown.
Taehyung can sense his growing desperation.
This elicits a jut to his bottom lip. Taehyung has to bite down on his growing smile. “But I miss you.”
Taehyung lets out a deep breath, right hand curling around Jungkook’s wrist to halt his greedy fingers from pressing down.
It’s been far too long since the two could hold each other this way without the external stress from work or school. And with Taehyung’s job being so on-the-spot half the time, they can hardly align their free days.
So, Jungkook can’t help but want more. Every time.
His heart squeezes at the sight of angry purple marks around the boy’s knees and shoulders, not completely used to it just yet.
/Any/ other sport, his boyfriend could have chosen.
Football is just too risky. He could pick up some golf instead. It’s a fun sport, a bit more on the safe side.
Still, having his boy under him—pliant and needy and /pink/—has him holding back quite a lot himself.
Jungkook sighs when the heat of several open-mouth kisses starts to paint the side of his neck, up to the back of his ear.
“T-Then, c’mon,” Jungkook whispers, cradling his fingers through the soft strands of his boyfriend’s dark hair, pushing gently to coax more of /anything/ out of him.
Taehyung bites down harshly, and Jungkook’s breath hitches.
“Wanna rethink that, my love?” His voice feathers over the shell of Jungkook’s ear, rich and velvety. And Jungkook knows exactly what he means.
Besides, the bedroom is the only place he can truly be noisy to prove how the elder can make him feel.
But maybe he’d like his alluring delectable to be for his eyes only, just for now.
Yeah, he’s gatekeeping. So what?
“I’ll bite the sheets.”
Taehyung exhales.
Sara purses her lips together. Pops them out in a small pout.
She applies a thin coat of lipgloss on her upper lip, eyes squinting, watching it sparkle in her mini hot pink mirror.
But it’s become a sort of ambience to her, chitters of conversation spewing left and right. Especially at her table.
“No, you’re the one that—”
“But like where is he—”
The chirping fades away from Sara’s mind easily, she doesn’t pay any of them much attention. It isn’t like they’re super close or anything.
Jungkook avoids their gaze sheepishly, placing an elbow on the table and turning to face his best friend instead.
“People will not stop /staring/ at me today.”
Sara snorts, applying another thin layer of gloss on her bottom lip.
She catches a glimpse of the /raging/ hickey on the side of Jungkook’s neck and her eyes blow wide, letting out a startled sound.
Jungkook blinks dumbly, “What? Do I have something on my—”
“It’s the /monster hickey/ on your neck, you idiot!” She whispers sharply.
He forgot to cover it up this morning after stumbling out of bed, already late for his class.
But he /told/ his boyfriend to be careful last night. He /did/.
The whispers around them grow louder.
Sara sighs as she turns back, dragging a hand down her face.
Jungkook sucks a breath in through his teeth, “Yeah, sorry.” He grabs the hoodie he packed in his backpack and slips it on quickly, hoping it’s enough to hide the mark for the moment.
And that being; under /no/ circumstances should Taehyung be brought to the public eye.
It’s not bitterness, she loves her brother. But it sure as hell was getting disconcerting.
So they came to a mutual agreement.
And, much to their ignorance, this one has the potential to bite their ass harder than they might expect.
Jungkook shoves the phone into his pocket, groaning as his arm extends in an attempt to reach the dreaded upper cabinet.
“Ugh, stupid instant noodles.”
He’s beginning to lose faith in there being any noodles to fulfil his cravings.
“Sara, I can’t get the damn—”
“I got it.” Jungkook freezes.
That’s not Sara.
It's immediate, how quick he is to help. And for some reason, that does something to Jungkook's gut.
"There you are."
And lower to his pants. Sweats. Jungkook gulps.
And then, he notices the /fingers/, on the hand he still holds out with the instant noodles that Jungkook has already forgotten.
Okay.
This is his best friend’s house after all, and this was a very kind stranger. Who just happened to be sexy.
Who Jungkook has never seen in his life? He parts his lips, squinting his eyes, and the handsome man lifts an eyebrow.
“Who-”
“Wow, great,”
“Didn’t even need to come, I guess.” Her hands fit over her hips and she comes to a halt on the other side of the counter.
Jungkook blinks, then turns to the hunk again. “Uh-”
Oh.
Jungkook’s throat goes dry.
Shit.
“Taehyung, this is Jungkook, my best friend or whatever.”
“Nice to meet you,” Taehyung smiles again, a little wider this time—a little kinder. /Fuck/ he’s a sweetheart.
“Uh- Nice to meet you too.”
He bows kindly. Quickly grabs the instant noodles, and before anyone can say anything, he rushes out of the kitchen.
He doesn’t miss the way Sara’s eyes linger between them for a moment.
because a lot of people have mentioned it now, yes. this au is indeed inspired by this song! 🤩 (without the girl and boy hooking up ofc) open.spotify.com/track/7aTXnk6q…
y’all loved her sm so she’s practically an MC as well now <3 instagram.com/mallow_ksy?igs…
there’s lots of writing in these next updates, we’re plot-building okay (occasional switch POV)
okay let’s get back to it~ curiouscat.live/generickoo
He had a couple of tequila shots, just as much as usual. Felt more comfortable to drink assuming Sara's friend would be driving them back.
And it’s only been five minutes, until he finally senses the figure looming over him.
At that, Taehyung’s frown dissipates, and softness melts into his eyes.
Jungkook nods a little too quickly, and Taehyung hadn’t even meant for it to sound authoritative.
He’s… endeared, the corner of his lip lifts.
“Can you stand?”
However, the smile drops just as quickly when he recognizes the faint distance in Jungkook’s eyes, and he lunges forward immediately.
“Shit,” He huffs, his arm tight around Jungkook’s waist. “You okay?”
Jungkook blushes, eyes widening. He doesn’t know why he didn’t expect the sweetheart to swear.
It’s another surprise, when he realizes that Taehyung is expertly holding him up with a single arm around his waist.
What’s wrong is that Taehyung is /hot/, even from this angle. And it’s unfair.
Taehyung blinks, then lets out a deep chuckle, head falling back. And Jungkook wants to hear it /all night/. He looks back down at the boy, a fond smile on his lips.
Jungkook tilts his head, confused, doesn’t know what he means by that. Taehyung bites the inside of his cheek when his hair flies over his glossy eyes.
“What’d you mean—”
Sara’s gasp interrupts him, “Oh, shit."
Sara flings his arm over her shoulder, holding him up with a heave.
Jungkook furrows his eyebrows, mouth attempting to retort but ending up in spewed babbles. Taehyung holds back the urge to laugh again, pursing his lips.
He blinks, watching, and eventually follows behind.
Much to his dreaded demise, Jungkook does end up coming to the cheer meet. Seated dutifully at the bleachers of the college field like a puppy, his t-shirt and shorts fluttering in the subtle wind. At least it isn’t a terrible day.
He’s not interested, really.
However, he glances up occasionally when the girls start their actual practice.
Jungkook settles on conversing with his boyfriend to pass the rest of the time, a smile growing on his face at every little retort or sweet comment he makes. He almost forgets where he is for a second.
Her hands are clasped together, a poised posture that’s almost unfitting. Her cheeks fit under the bottom lids of her eyes, emphasizing the brightness of her smile.
“Hi, Jungkook!” She beams, pearly teeth in all their glory.
It’s all too familiar for a first greeting, the casual way she speaks.
Jungkook’s a bit confused. But he smiles kindly anyway. “Hello.”
Jungkook himself, though, has never seen her in his life. (Or maybe he did somewhere around, but he never looks twice).
She tilts her head in question, “How did you like the practice?”
Jungkook still feels odd about the casual tone. But his smile doesn’t falter.
“It was great. You guys did well.”
He snaps his eyes behind her where he hears someone whisper in their direction harshly.
There are a couple of girls standing, almost /hovering/, a few steps away from her.
And he’s… confused.
It’s been a while since any girl has shown an interest in him.
Still, he nods, pursing his lips. “Yeah, you were great.”
But he hopes a little too soon.
And he’s frozen. Eyes blown wide.
The girl leans back, looks over her shoulder once, and begins to skip away in glee. He doesn’t miss the faint of a smirk on her lips as she does.
Sara is glaring fucking /daggers/ into his soul.
Sara is /livid/.
He’s speechless. What the fuck is happening right now.
Jungkook blinks, mouth parting to speak. But Sara interrupts him and he’s flinching in the corner again.
“I swear to /god/ if you’re playing with my brother’s feelings, I’ll—”
“I thought she was just being friendly ‘cause everyone knows that me and you are friends.
He sputters, because it’s so ridiculous.
She sighs, arms crossing as she shakes her head. “You’re right, sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled at you like that. I know what she’s like.”
Sara nods dreadfully. She parts her lips to speak but gets interrupted by Jungkook’s phone pinging with a dozen notifications at once.
His eyes blow wide.
“What. The fuck.”
He turns the phone to Sara, and her jaw drops.
Like the expression on his face before he’s about to put out a raging fire.
She sighs sharply, eyes meeting Jungkook’s, “I gotta go.”
Jungkook stumbles to the side when Sara stomps past him.
But /Sara/ is also upset.
Jungkook is afraid she might want to.
Sara wiggles the keys into the lock.
“I told Taehyung about the photo, so don’t worry too much about—it, Jungkook, stop. I’m /opening/ it—”
Jungkook jerks Sara’s arm to hurry her in opening the front door.
“Dude—” He’s bursting inside, a flutter of anxiety under his chest when he staggers through the living room to reach the stairs.
He pays his best friend no mind as he stomps up the stairs, shoes still on and backpack still slung around his shoulder. He’s in a hurry to see Taehyung.
He's fallen prey to misunderstandings far too many times. Taehyung is just too precious to allow that again.
“Tae?” His voice cracks with worry, “Are—”
The door is quickly shut not moments before a pair of lips slam onto his own, hungry in the way they immediately pry them open.
“Mn, hyu—” He barely gets a second to breathe between the kisses. It’s wet, and sloppy, and so /different/ than how they usually kiss.
He pulls back, and Jungkook breathes. Left a pretty flustered mess.
“Hi.” Jungkook huffs, breathless. “Shit,”
Taehyung laughs but tightens the hold around his waist in assurance. Jungkook almost fully slumps into it.
“You were worried.” Taehyung mumbles, nips at his bottom lip, and Jungkook’s eyes flutter. He hums.
He giggles when the man presses a series of quick and sharp kisses on his right cheek—the cheek Haeun kissed—and pushes at his chest, but there’s no effort in it.
“You’re such a baby,” Jungkook groans, and Taehyung bites.
“Mm,” Taehyung hums, and Jungkook’s entire face burns as he sucks languidly at the skin behind his ear. “And you’re mine.”
Taehyung, he realizes, is just as possessive as him. Wants Jungkook to be /his/, through and through.
Perhaps, Jungkook should reconsider gatekeeping.
Perhaps he should reconsider the spoken contract between him and his best friend.
And that idea has Jungkook’s insides /preening/.
“Yours,” and it’s breathy.
Their lips meet again.
After a while of indulging in their heated makeout session, they finally relax on the couch in Taehyung’s room.
He's tucked underneath Taehyung’s head, cheek pressed to his chest as thick arms wrap around him securely, a blanket draped around them both.
The boy can't help his giddy smile, and he lifts his head to settle his chin on Taehyung’s shoulder, blinking up at him.
“Did you forget we’re watching a movie?” Taehyung doesn’t look down as he speaks, but a giddy smile is on his face.
Taehyung looks at him then, smile softening. He lifts a hand to brush his thumb across Jungkook’s bottom lip. “Are you trying to make me fall harder?”
The boy’s hands fly to Taehyung’s lap, and he reaches under his t-shirt, only to feel his skin.
“Did you save people today?”
Taehyung presses a kiss on his forehead. “One way to put it,”
“S’ the truth.”
Taehyung runs his fingers through Jungkook’s hair with his free hand, smiling fondly. “A few. We managed to stop a kitchen fire from getting worse than it could.”
It’s honestly ridiculous, that Taehyung’s mind strays to everything /more/ he could have done, in a situation where he’s already done so much.
“You’re so,” Jungkook shakes his head, throat feeling a little constricted as his eyes brim with fragile tears.
Every fucking time.
Taehyung looks between his eyes, lips parted, reading everything in Jungkook’s expression.
“I am everything I am when I have /you/.”
He says the last words like it’s /undeniable/. Like Jungkook is his pure driving force.
The boy can’t help the sob that leaves his lips, leaning down to press their lips together in a /passionate/ kiss.
And, eventually, Taehyung is carrying him to the bed.
He wants everyone to know. He /needs/ everyone to know, how fucking much he loves Taehyung.
He needs them all to see, that they belong to each other.
Yeah.
It’s time to talk to Sara.
Taehyung is one hundred percent—certainly, and undoubtedly—avoiding Jungkook.
Sara and Jungkook’s relationship has grown substantially in the past couple of months.
And being here a lot more often means seeing Taehyung a lot more often.
His eyes drift to the kitchen, albeit with difficulty.
The Kim household isn’t exactly a small one. Each room is spread out a fine amount, separated by hallways with a sizable expanse in each.
But there’s plenty to appreciate about the back. It’s a sexy back. For sure.
He snaps out of it when a sharp toenail digs into his stomach.
Jungkook bites the inside of his cheek, turning back to face the TV again with a grimace. “He’s ignoring me.”
Sara faces the TV then too, licking at the Takis powder around her lips.
“He’s sulking.”
Jungkook furrows his eyebrows. “Over what? Being so damn irritating?”
“I told you,” At that, Jungkook sighs knowingly, shoulders drooping. She did warn him.
Sara looks up at him and crumbs fall from the corner of her mouth when she frowns.
“Don’t.”
Jungkook should be surprised at her immediate suspicion, he could have just risen to go to the bathroom.
Possibly because she’s far too similar to him, practically the same, they might just be soulmates, in that aspect.
Being brats.
Sara sighs irritatingly as he swiftly throws himself over the couch, a hand on the ledge as his feet drop to the floor silently.
Mainly because Taehyung tends to scurry away like a mouse at any shift or sound that may indicate someone’s approaching him, at least when Jungkook’s over.
“Hey!”
Taehyung’s body goes rigid.
He smiles, but it’s tight-lipped.
“I know,” Jungkook smiles back, fluttering his lashes.
And Taehyung’s chest rises a little.
Jungkook bites his lip, and his gaze shifts down to the large flier laid out in front of the man.
Because of /course/ Taehyung reads the damn newspaper. /Of course/ he enjoys authentic journalism, the same way Jungkook enjoys scrolling through Twitter in his pastime.
He realizes it, but he doesn’t make any move to speak. Not when he can finally take his time appreciating the way Taehyung looks as he stands languidly against the counter.
Again, /of course/ he walks around the house in slacks. Not that Jungkook’s complaining, he could get down on his knees at this very moment, honestly.
His gaze snaps back up to meet Taehyung’s. And /shit/.
Jungkook licks at it. Catches his gaze flicker downwards.
He wonders just who Taehyung’s trying to fool, at this point.
He doesn’t like that.
“Whatchu reading?” He asks absentmindedly, taking a couple of steps forward, and then moving around the counter.
“Found myself in the paper.”
At that, Jungkook’s eyes widen.
His finger points to the very top corner, and after Jungkook is done appreciating the length of it and the sparkling steel rings adorning it, he reads the headline:
Jungkook’s eyes sparkle. He reaches for the paper unconsciously.
Taehyung lets him lift it, bringing it up to his face to get a clearer few of the faded-out picture.
He’s so handsome, even in the photo. So handsome, saving a baby /animal/. On a worn-out old newspaper.
“Couple days ago,” Taehyung chuckles, “Surprised they got this out so early. I didn’t even see the photographers there.”
He snaps his head to Taehyung and the man startles back, only now realizing that the proximity of their faces had closed a bit while he was reading the paper from Jungkook’s hands.
Before he can realize it, his hand flies up to the man’s face.
Jungkook thumbs at the skin underneath the subtle scar on Taehyung’s lip. A cut, not too deep. Looks painful, or seems like it might have been.
But still. “You got hurt.”
Taehyung.
Taehyung doesn’t know what to say.
So of course he got hurt, even if just a little bit.
A small bit.
A cut.
But this boy.
He’s surprised at his own actions after that.
But Jungkook feels his head go foggy, and his legs turn to jelly.
His breath hitches, when Taehyung leans close enough to slip a hand into his back pocket. Almost candidly folds, before he feels the hand retreating just as quickly.
It’s his phone. In Taehyung’s hand.
Taehyung looks away in favour of sliding the boy’s phone open.
He taps at the phone a couple of times, and Jungkook tries not to absorb himself in the way he tongues at his cheek while typing.
“Text me. When you get the chance.”
And he’s gone. Staggering away, around the kitchen counter and down the hall Jungkook came from.
In, practically, the same way Jungkook had the first time he saw him.
Slowly, a smile etches onto his face, giddy and dreamy. And so fucking gone.
Minha makes it outside Sara’s house pretty quickly.
Much to her surprise, they lived only a couple of streets away from each other. It wasn’t too dark out, so she decided to pull on her rainboots and go on a walk instead of driving there.
And back then, for a moment, she hoped that maybe the cheer captain might have had a sort of interest in her.
Because the comments on her posts had increased substantially, during that time. Simple emojis becoming one or two words, to longer sentences in response to even Minha’s useless /book reviews/.
She still does. Look, that is, stupidly.
Stupid. Stupid Minha.
She bites at her lip, feet slowing down on the pavement, the clicking sound of her boots fading away as she comes to a stop.
This.
This was a terrible idea.
This wasn’t fair. Not to her or Sara. Or Jungkook.
She needs to go.
She doesn’t mean to snoop. She doesn’t.
But there’s someone else with him.
It’s a man. Jungkook is in the car with a man.
Because now, they’re /kissing/.
Minha.
Minha is /mortified/.
Jungkook preens against Taehyung’s lips.
His heart flutters avidly as he feels gentle fingers cradling through the hair on the back of his head.
Because Jungkook loves Taehyung, that is nothing short of a fact.
But /this/ Taehyung.
He sighs against the man’s lips, attempting to shift closer in the car’s confinement.
Taehyung’s smirk moving languidly against his lips has him wanting /more/.
So much so, that neither he nor Taehyung can comprehend the chittering of hushed voices coming from the house a couple of feet from the parked car.
The chittering of two girls.
Because, although he’s been lavished with attention, and chivalry, and overbearing kindness from his boyfriend all night, he still craves the grounding heat of his touch.
To never let go.
Taehyung’s fingers slide to his bare waist exposed by the crop top, warm fingers curling around delightfully to squeeze.
The same fingers, the ones that fit him so easily, had firmly held his thigh throughout the whole night. Clad in leather, but still burning with unrelenting heat under Taehyung’s hold.
The fingers gripped tightly in the car as he drove, in the restaurant under the table, and even while they were eating their food. The warmth of a strong hand on his body had never left.
That's why Jungkook can't rid himself of the fluster all over his face.
Allows Taehyung to give, and take, and give. And give and (oh /god/-) give.
Until Jungkook is completely pliant in his hold, and even the grip of his fingers on the man’s clothing grows weak.
However, Taehyung hasn’t always been the giving type.
If there is anyone that knows him well, it’s his best friend.
But he wouldn’t let anyone else through. Taehyung built up certain walls around himself to hide behind polite smiles and a concealed poise.
So, it had certainly scared him when Jeon Jungkook came into his life.
The boy was irresistible, in a way.
Taehyung didn’t know what was good for him.
Because someone who could /see/ Taehyung this way, could not be let go that easily.
Doesn’t.
Stubborn, sweet little thing he is.
So, ever since then, Taehyung has become subject to /giving/. And he would break down in tears and agony if Jungkook were to ever /refuse/ him of such a blessing.
He’s decided, after this date, he’ll take him on another. Just to shower him again and again in everything he has, because Jungkook has done just that for him.
“Holy shit,"
“You’re—You, I—” Jungkook huffs, shaking his head.
Taehyung bites down at his grin.
“I /love/ today, so much.”
A warmth blooms in the man’s chest.
“I’m glad, my love. You deserve it, and so much more.”
A strangled noise leaves Jungkook’s lips. “Stop, stop it. I’m /actually/ going to explode.”
“Oh?” The laughs die down into questionable amusement. Taehyung has to move the seat back a little to fit the boy between himself and the wheel.
Jungkook’s relentless, plopping right down.
“Wanna stay here.” Jungkook gruffs, tucking deeper.
Taehyung is so fond.
“Mm, wish we could. But I don’t think Sara would appreciate our disappearance.”
He smiles, pressing his teeth against the side of Taehyung’s neck.
“Love,” Taehyung breathes out in laughter, “I am not having sex with you in a dirty car after taking you to a five-star restaurant.”
He pulls at Jungkook’s hips.
“No,” The boy whines, “I promise you, I will /not/ stay quiet if you make me go inside.”
Taehyung stills. Pulls Jungkook off his chest to look him in the eyes.
And, /oh/.
He blinks, mouth agape. “Are you—”
Jungkook raises an eyebrow. A challenge.
“Okay,” He says, exasperated, “Alright, just let me- let me grab the stuff. From inside.”
Jungkook thinks about it for a moment, but eventually listens. Slips off his lap to let him leave.
“M’ waiting.”
Taehyung would laugh at the impatient tone, but he finds it more hysterical that he’s actually agreed to fuck his darling /bratty/ boy in the backseat of his Mercedes.
He slips out, shuts the door, and hastily approaches the front door of the house.
this entire next scene is between sara and minha, but it’s important to the big gay ✨reveal✨. my girls deserve this at the very least.
Minha rushes over to the front door of Sara’s house with a flutter of anxiety under her chest, occasionally looking over from the corner of her eye to make sure Jungkook didn’t see her scrambling over.
And she’s not really the knight in shining armour kinda gal.
She blames it on Sara. And her tendency to have Minha care about her, for some reason.
They're still kissing.
Minha's hands won't stop shaking.
“Hi!” Minha blurts, interrupting, blowing in pink.
Because the older girl looks (way too) fricken gorgeous.
She just needs to get inside. /Right now/,
A small smile crawls onto the taller girl’s face.
The door shuts.
Minha slips her shoes off in haste.
“Want me to take your jacket?”
She snaps her lips shut.
Although, that may change after Sara hears what she has to say.
Still, she nods, and Sara kindly helps her pull her jacket off, fingers brushing over her arms (shoot, oh gosh-), and hangs it up on the hook near the front door.
She can’t take this anymore.
The moment Sara turns back around, Minha lunges forward to grab her hand.
“I have to tell you something!”
Her eyes flicker down to where Minha holds her hand, tight.
She tilts her head, because the poor girl seems a little /desperate/. Sara could not guess, for the life of her, what Minha could have on her mind, not even if she tried her hardest to read her gaze.
“Okay,” She says, and squeezes Minha’s hand.
The shorter girl widens her eyes as she’s suddenly dragged towards a couch to be seated.
“Go ahead.”
But Minha.
Minha’s throat suddenly gets lodged.
She feels a little stupid now, wearing what she felt was her prettiest skirt. Because her entire body won't stop shivering.
“Uh,” She gulps, “I don’t know how to say this. I’m—” She shakes her head.
Fuck, why is this so hard?
It doesn’t help that for some reason, there’s a small smirk on Sara’s lips.
She almost forgot what she came to say.
/Stop. This is important/.
Minha whips her head around.
And.
/Oh, fuck/.
There’s no way.
Shit. Minha’s lungs wheeze a breath.
Maybe he does.
The taller girl’s shoulders droop, just the slightest, “Minha?” She tries, patient despite herself. “You had to say something?”
“I—Yeah,” Her voice becomes fragile when the tall man walks by them, not a single word said as he staggers up the stairs. And Sara doesn’t say a word to him either.
She’s starting to see it now, the vague similarities in their features.
“Is- Is that your brother?”
Sara scoffs, and Minha flinches a little.
/She’s straight/. That’s the only thing going through Sara’s mind at the moment, a hand cupping her chin. /Straighter than a broomstick/.
But she’s wrong.
Was this the gods punishing her?
“Oh.” She says.
“He’s off limits, you know? He’s dating someone.” Sara mumbles.
And Minha feels bile rise in her throat, eyes clouding up a little. This punishment was becoming a little cruel.
“Yeah, so you can’t date him or anything. Don’t even think about—”
Her eyes widen. She sputters, hands flying up at the misunderstanding (or many).
“W-What? I’m- I’m not trying to—” Minha’s tongue twitches when Sara squints at her, and it’s different from her usual gaze.
“I’m gay!”
Minha blinks, stupidly, hands still in the air.
Sara’s head lifts from her chin, jaw going slack.
Something akin to a subtle /gleam/ begins to glow on her features when she speaks next.
“Oh?”
Minha’s entire face explodes in red.
But then, Sara is shifting closer on the couch, causing her eyes to snap back open.
“Me too.”
Minha, at first, doesn’t register the words.
“I’m gay,” Sara says again, pointedly.
“You’re,” Minha furrows her brows. “No, you’re not?”
“What?”
“Me and /Jungkook/!?” The girl shrieks, flinching back at the words, and Minha’s breath gets caught in her throat.
Sara looks down, a baffled expression on her face.
“Oh my god.”
Sara looks back down, a small, fond chuckle on her lips, as she examines /poor/ poor Minha’s confused, oblivious face.
Minha.
Finally.
Takes a deep, everlasting breath, and loosens her thighs.
That. Makes a lot more sense.
So the /truth/ is, Minha is a lot more stupid than she thought.
Sara and Minha have a good, long talk after that.
Minha explained, while fiddling her thumbs and biting her lip, that she believed she and Jungkook were dating because /everyone else/ believes it.
And Sara. Well.
And pink and pretty right in front of her. In a gorgeous skirt.
“Mm?” She hums, breathing in shakily when Sara licks at her bottom lip.
Frick.
Minha gulps, fingertips burning when Sara’s hands find them.
“Oh,” Minha rasps.
Minha almost squirms when the taller girl slides a hand over her knees, fingers curling around the one further from her, only to pull at them so Minha’s entire body is facing her.
“Would you let me try again?”
How incredibly terrible it’s been, the unrequited feelings that she had been pushing away inevitably.
/Yes/.
Minha would let Sara flirt with her over and over.
But Minha was never a talker.
Instead, her hand finds Sara’s nape, cupping it beneath the thickness of her hair.
But, she nods.
Thankfully.
Because that’s what causes Sara to capture her lips.
Because Sara's lips are sticky and sweet.
Because Sara won't stop pulling her closer.
She loves the scent of Sara’s hair, a subtle hint of aloe vera.
Minha’s hands fly everywhere they can, in those few moments. Flying to all pieces of fabric, dragging up and down her sides.
And they're so close now.
“Hey,” Sara whispers, a small giggle to her lips as Minha on the couch to get a better angle—captures their lips again and delves in deeper.
Kisses her deeper.
Whines softly, when Sara sucks at her bottom lip.
Minha huffs out, bottom lip jutting when the older girl breathes out against her lips.
She’s finally got what she wanted all along. She can be patient.
To an /extent/.
Something erupts in Minha’s stomach, and she bites down at her lip.
Sara smiles, fond.
Her hand comes up to cup Minha’s jaw. “Okay. So, let’s watch some movies for now. I want to do this properly. Without any distractions, or people in the way.”
Minha nods. “Okay.”
Sara, however, is fighting the same battle in her head.
But Minha is someone she wants to appreciate every second with.
Take time with.
“Sorry, got some gloss on you.” Sara blinks, innocently, a tiny curve on her lips.
And Minha nods, a tight smile on her lips.
The same reason she spreads them, when Sara's hand comes to fall between them as well.
“Jungkook, it’s not that hard.”
“Sara, eat your damn soup.”
She pokes her best friend’s ribs, eliciting a sharp glare in her direction. But she only glares back in retaliation, body completely turned to face the boy so that her pestering is maximally effective.
The sound gets drowned out by the loud conversations of students at their table in the food lounge. But Sara hears it, and she rolls her eyes.
“I /know/,” Jungkook whines.
“It doesn’t have to be perfect!” Sara crosses her arms.
“Come on,” She lifts a finger, pokes again, “You know you’ll have to sometime. Just do it.”
Because holy fuck.
“You don’t have to throw flowers over the floor, or recite a poem or do anything lame like that, you just have to /say it/—”
That is, until he places the spoon down, and his glare melts into a sarcastic grin.
“You want me to just /say it/?”
Sara nods, lips pressed together. “Yep.”
Perhaps that is exactly what she did, without even realizing.
“Bet.”
Her eyes follow his movements when he steps onto the bench, and a fluster creeps up her neck the moment she realizes /exactly/ what is about to happen.
“Wait-”
“I have a boyfriend!”
Everyone.
Literally everyone, goes completely silent.
Everyone halts wherever they are, and turns their heads to Jungkook.
Sara lets out a quiet, strangled, heavily embarrassed noise, from the back of her throat.
“I have a boyfriend,” He says again, a little quieter this time. But everyone’s attention is unfaltering from him, attentive as he speaks with a puffed chest and tight fists, “And he’s fucking hot.”
Sara’s voice comes out weak, “Jungkook-”
A couple of people flinch.
She heaves, stifling a hysterical laugh in her palms.
Now, this might not have been what she had in mind when she asked Jungkook to /just say it/.
But, she’s not complaining. Not entirely.
Her eyes tread across the room, biting down to prevent herself from bursting like a fucking balloon.
And some have even forgotten about the food in their mouths, unable to chew as their jaws go slack.
But Jungkook just looks so /determined/ and /shameless/ in this sudden tantrum, that it has her questioning if her humour is sadistic, in a way.
She freezes when about a hundred /mortified/ gazes drop down to her all at once. Doesn’t move an inch, when a couple more mouths fall open.
“Yeah. I am /not/ dating Sara,”
She snaps her head up, “Hey! That’s-”
“—Because I love her /brother/.”
And, her mouth closes, fighting back the beam of a smile threatening to show.
“Thank you,” He says, pointedly. Before stepping back down from the table swiftly.
Steps down with /too/ much ease, for someone who just made a ground-breaking announcement in the sole gossip zone of their university.
“Taehyung,” She wheezes, “Taehyung is going to /lose/ it when he hears about this.”
Perhaps this is how Taehyung felt every time Jungkook whined about a hickey being too prominent on his skin.
He likes it.
“Sara,” Sara looks across the table when a girl whispers to her.
She leans even closer. “How old—” The slam of a table has her flinching, everyone else at the table startling.
Jungkook’s hand is flat on the table, and he ignores the slight sting to it as he cooly faces the girl. There’s a smile on his lips that looks /lethal/, even if he’s cradling the tiny pink spoon in his hand.
“/My/ firefighter.” He says.
The girl blinks. After a second or two, she slowly leans back and retreats her splayed hands, head ducking to face her food. The rest of the table follows suit, some of them hiding their laughter, and others, not.
However, a very faint satisfied feeling blooms in her heart, as she watches Jungkook continue eating his (Taehyung’s) meal, with a stupid grin on his face. This one, sincere, and disgustingly affectionate.
An idiot for an idiot.
Sara skips up to the fence in front of the bleachers where a certain pretty girl stands, awaiting.
She smiles at Minha, who leans down to her from the slight height of being up on the steps.
“Sara,” She breathes, excited.
For some reason, standing here in front of Minha, with everyone watching the two of them in anticipation, feels just as exhilarating as performing her cheer for the competition.
Minha’s hair dances in the wind while she speaks, and Sara /tries/ to hold herself back, “You were amazing—”
But then she realizes, why should she?
Minha startles. For just a moment, before melting right into it, a hand snaking around her neck.
Jungkook, who was sitting right beside Minha and screaming the poor girl’s ear off the entire show, only smiles at the sight of them.
Only because she'll finally shut up about being single and lonely.
That’s the only reason, of course.
He sighs with a fond smile, cupping his chin.

Yes, it may be that Jungkook was the one to invite Taehyung to his house.
However, he can’t help but feel a little… well, nervous.
It’s just that, Taehyung is /rich/, okay?
But he’s sure Taehyung will love it. Right? Or, at least pretend that he does.
Still, Jungkook does his very best to doll up the entire place.
He’s done a good job. The place at least looks a /little/ more sleek and appealing than it did three hours ago.
Jungkook widens his eyes in realization, and he looks down at himself. His shirt is covered in dust, and other stains he can’t recall the origins of.
The boy frantically pulls out his phone from his back pocket to check the time.
He lets out a sigh. He still has 30 minutes. He can quickly finish setting up the present for Taehyung, and then take a brisk shower.
When Taehyung first walks in, a delighted smile creeps onto his face.
He shuts the front door behind himself and leans down quickly to remove his shoes.
His heart melts a little when he first notices the broom and tray stuffed in the corner of the room, almost as if forgotten there.
Especially fond, when his eyes catch the cluster of Spiderman magazines tucked under the coffee table.
After a good moment of appreciating the living room, he moves a little more into the apartment and reaches the kitchen. His smile grows wider at the faint sound of water running echoing through the hallway to his left.
Taehyung, being the experienced firefighter that he is, recognizes that it’s the smell of /soot/, and it’s been coating the air for quite a while. Hours, even.
Taehyung blows them out, hastily lifting them and tossing them into the sink.
He sighs sharply, places his hands on a window frame, leaning against it with his head dipped.
How-
How on earth could Jungkook be so /careless/?
The faint sound of the water running stops abruptly, and he whips his head around, turning to the hallway.
Jungkook wrings out his hair with a towel.
He’d slipped on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie (Taehyung’s), and now shuffles out of the bathroom with his head ducked.
He’s got a satisfied smile on his lips.
“There you are,”
“Jungkook.” The boy’s smile drops when he hears the note in his voice.
Because Taehyung. Taehyung looks, and sounds, to be /upset/.
“That was very irresponsible of you.”
Suddenly, the droplets trickling down the back of his neck feel a lot colder than usual. He grips the towel tighter.
“Do you /know/ how long those candles were burning for?”
He gapes, jaw going slack. Taehyung tilts his head, and his arms bulge a little when he tightens them.
“You have such a gorgeous place, Kook, do you /want/ it to be covered in soot?”
But, Taehyung won’t stop looking at him with those dark eyes. And he doesn’t know what to do, about the subtle heat beginning to coarse at the pit of his stomach, the more Taehyung speaks in that rumble.
“S-Soot?”
Jungkook pauses, but Taehyung lifts his eyebrow again, and the boy shakes his head frantically. “No, I—”
“Then?” He snaps his lip shut, presses his legs together.
Jungkook’s feet move on their own as Taehyung continues his rant.
Jungkook’s knees hit the carpet, right in front of Taehyung.
The man’s eyes widen, frozen in place.
Doesn’t move, arms bulging further, as Jungkook’s fingers come up to grip his fly. The boy blinks up at him with fluttered lashes, slowly pulls the zipper down, and bites down at his lip.
Taehyung hardly ever scolds him with this tone. It’s usually just through soft words and fond chuckles, but he supposes it’s never been as serious as this.
Still, the irritation turns him on. The caring turns him on.
He’s especially glad that Taehyung seems to like his apartment, seeing as he’d grieve if it were to burn down. Or get covered in /soot/, of all things.
God, what a sweetheart.
This causes the man to breathe out slowly, heavily, and one of his arms unravels to bring a hand down to Jungkook’s head.
“Jungkook,” Taehyung drawls, but his voice has gone hoarse, and his hands are encouraging as they grip the boy’s hair. Jungkook’s hands curl around the back of his knees.
“Mhm,” He nods, smiling innocently, “I did, hyung.”
Jungkook’s jaw goes slack, cheeks beginning to tint a beautiful pink as he rolls his tongue out of his mouth.
“Shit,” He breathes, and Jungkook’s thighs squeeze together. Tight.
Taehyung groans, pulling the boy back by the hair.
Jungkook blinks up at him, licking at his slicked lips.
“Go on, then.”
His hands drag up to hook onto the hem of his boxers that peak up from his pants, and pull downwards.
Jungkook returns from the bathroom after rinsing his mouth and washing his hands.
He grins when he sees Taehyung leaning back on the bed, eyeing the few posters on his wall.
“Don’t do that again, okay?” He mumbles against his lips.
“What? Suck you off?”
Taehyung rolls his eyes, and Jungkook giggles.
“I’m serious—”
Taehyung smiles, “Okay, good.” He leans back, poking Jungkook’s nose, and he scrunches it.
Jungkook blanches, swatting at Taehyung’s chest. “No! That was /not/ the present.” He pouts, arms crossing, but can’t keep up his demeanour when low chuckles fill his ears.
“Then? May I see it?”
He giggles, finds Taehyung’s hand.
“Come.”
He turns around, hand halted at the knob. “You ready?”
Jungkook’s bunny teeth poke out when he bites his lip, and gently opens the door, eyes still on him.
And.
Taehyung sees.
Taehyung sees, well, nothing.
A room with a fluffy rug in the center, and a bright blue beanbag chair in the corner. And a couple of other little items that are too unidentical for Taehyung to piece anything together.
Maybe it’s the rug? But Jungkook wouldn’t be this excited to share a rug. Is Taehyung missing something?
“Uh-” He sputters when Jungkook squints his eyes at him.
“Oh fuck,” Jungkook lets go of Taehyung’s hand to rush into the room in a bit of a panic.
He falls to his hands and knees, looking around. “Where did it, fuck-”
He probably forgot where he put it, Taehyung thinks. Would be Jungkook thing to do.
Jungkook looks behind the door, under a few things, then finally, checks behind the bean bag—and lets out a deep sigh of relief.
“Jungkook, what—”
Because Jungkook’s got something small, orange, and fluffy, curled in his arms.
The Valentine’s Day present, is a fucking kitten.
A goddamn kitten.
Taehyung tries not to faint when Jungkook brings it closer to him.
Taehyung’s hands shake when Jungkook gently hands him the kitten.
And he’s afraid he might just melt into the ground.
“I adopted her from the shelter.” Jungkook says, a soft smile on his lips.
Taehyung heaves out a breath, gaze snapping up to Jungkook. His eyes are starting to burn a little. “You named her after the sloth I saved?”
Jungkook’s rambling quiets down to a mumble, and Taehyung looks back down at the kitten.
She’s so pretty. Covered in the brightest orange and white fur, tips of her ears sticking up with fluff.
“It’s perfect,” Taehyung gushes, a steady smile forming, “Hwa is perfect.”
Jungkook blinks.
The man looks back up and grabs Jungkook’s shirt with his free hand, pulling the boy close.
The kitten stirs a little in Taehyung’s hold, and they part for a moment to look down at her.
Her meow is tiny, and soft, and so fitting for her.
And Taehyung is in so much love.
With more than just the kitten, of course.
