I think he’s a conservative liberal who performs the function of george soros for radical liberals in the sense that he’s presented as the incarnation of “the bad funder of bad cultural revolution”— I think making surveillance tech for the military industrial complex is not the best use of money, but I’m not pretending like he’s any different from the entirety of Silicon Valley emerging from DARPA grants
@Logo_Daedalus What do you think about peter thiel?

It’s like how the Koch Brothers were the Gen X standin for “George Soros” — as if the issue is any single particular capitalist & not the larger structure of “philanthropic oligarchy” we have— the Koch Brothers used to fund NPR & Thiel gives money to plenty of “progressive causes” at the same time that he funds “conservative classical liberals” — because he’s a conservative liberal like the Koch brothers who probably listens to NPR

It’s like Moldbug— he gets money from Thiel because they are similarly “conservative liberals” who believe in “empiricism” & “science” over ideology— the issue with both is that their “empirical science” is libtarded & refuses to engage with historical particularity in favor of abstract “systemic” notions of neutrality— Thiel doesn’t discriminate when it comes to Palantir surveillance, the enemy for both is “radicalism as such”

Thiel is ultimately less interesting than his business partner Alex Karp— who is a Frankfurt School Marxist/Neocon whose doctoral dissertation “Aggression in the Life-World” is more elucidating than anything Thiel has written.
