The “longhouse” terminology derives from people who believe that masculinity is “individualism” ie: it is “more masculine” to have a polygamist network of “single mothers” in your wake than to be a patriarch of a monogamous family structure.

Same people say that it’s “cucked” to be married because true alpha individualists have nothing to do with child rearing or “community life” but are just mercenaries pursuing self-interest. This is presented as “true masculinity.”

Ironically— the “longhouse” described refers to native american structures of matriarchy in which there was no household patriarchal authority, but a den of mothers who had kids with various fathers. IE: this exact “solo male, single mothers-network” society

The actual “longhouse” kinship structure meant segregating men from their children (they often didn’t even know whose child was whose) so that they could be entirely devoted to war & the hunt. Like a military base— single moms & absent fathers.

You don’t see fathers in monogamous marriages using the term “long house”— but you do see absent fathers & “male individualists” using this term to refer to their fear of having to be responsible for raising children (& thus, serving society beyond self-interest)

If it was up to them— the prevailing norms of “single mothers absent fathers” is good so long as the absent fathers don’t have to pay child support, this would then be where the State intervenes, & you have the norms of “welfare socialism”
