#bkdk #ktdk #bakudeku Izuku has been dropping by the same flower...

Izuku has been dropping by the same flower shop every day since the grumpy florist let him take shelter in it one rainy night. This morning, though, it was Valentine’s day, and Izuku was getting tired of their little will-they-won’t-they.
Honestly, he did nothing to encourage this behavior. Everyone in Izuku’s friend circle and then some knew about his pathetic crush on the owner of the flower shop near their campus.
Izuku always tried to find an excuse to return to the flower shop; whether it be to pick up something he had left behind,
Sometimes —and these times were Izuku’s favorites— Katsuki would even send him off at the end of the day with some flowers.
Which Izuku doubted, yellow as they were, but whatever.
All of this, and they haven’t even exchanged phone numbers yet.
Mina hopped on his bed and declared.
“People like that can only be taken down using one method!”
“I don’t really want to take him down—”
And Izuku had to admit, a part of him stirred in interest at the concept, but he quickly shook the feeling away.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea—”
“What?!” Izuku flushed. “He wouldn’t believe that!”
“He’ll be too busy panicking to think about it!” This time, it was Ochako who pitched in.
“Don’t encourage her!”
“I know what happened to Iida.”
“No, he was very necessary collateral damage.” Ochako said solemnly. “It’s okay though. I bought him dinner after.”
“I can help you find out! ‘Zuku, I swear I will never pester you about this ever again if you give it a shot.” Mina leaned forward and gave him the biggest puppy dog eyes known to man. “Please?”
“Tell me what you have in mind first, and maybe I’ll consider it.”
Mina’s lips stretched into a wide, creepy grin. “Your mom’s birthday is on Valentine’s, right?”
Then, he spotted the person he was looking for on the counter.
“Kacchan!”
Katsuki looked up from the customer on the register, giving Izuku a tired nod. It was only after he finished checking out did Izuku come closer.
Izuku perked. Mina told him to seize the first opening he saw to flaunt his fake date. This was as good an opening as any, right?
“Actually,” Izuku said smugly. “I have a valentine.”
Katsuki snorted as he sorted out the cash in the register, as if Izuku was telling a joke. “Your ugly cat doesn’t count, Deku.”
“Ha ha.” Katsuki scoffed.
The blond looked up from the bills in his hand, ready to tease Izuku some more, until he saw the offended look on his freckled face.
“As a heart attack.” Izuku frowned, feigning confusion.
He could practically see the gears turning in Katsuki’s head. What was once a snide expression was slowly descending into… what was it that Mina told him? Anger? Annoyance?
Izuku stifled a smile as he saw Katsuki’s brows furrow.
“What?” He snapped. “Since fucking when. What’s her name?”
“You wouldn’t know who she is even if I told you.” Izuku shrugged.
Katsuki muttered something under his breath that Izuku couldn’t pick up, face pinched.
“I like her so much.” Izuku hummed, but the sarcastic edge of his tone was lost as he saw Katsuki’s jaw tighten. “I’m gonna get her a custom bouquet.”
Izuku continued chattering as the last of the customers trickled out of the shop, picking out stalks of blooms that matched a vaguely warm-toned composition,
Izuku feigned cluelessness as he brought over his selected flowers to the counter, where the bouquet was to be assembled. He watched the blond’s face as his eyes swept over the blooms.
Katsuki paused when his fingers danced over the first flower.
Assembling the bouquet was quick with the blond’s trained hands, not saying a word the whole time.
“Actually, can I have the orange paper?” Izuku interjected. Katsuki’s hands paused in midair.
“It’ll match the lilies more, don’t you think?”
“Hey, you do notes, right?”
Izuku pretended to mull over the decision. “I’ll take the note.”
“What do you want?”
Izuku hummed again. “Start with ‘Happy Birthday’.”
“And then: ‘I love you so much,” Izuku waited a second before saying, “Mom’.”
“Yeah.” Izuku said casually. He dismissively picked at the decorative paper of his bouquet. “Don’t forget the heart over the ‘i’.”
“I’m talking about the one in ‘birthday’.”
Katsuki huffed out a sharp breath and begrudgingly complied. His motions were sharp and concise as he went over to the top of the note.
He tried to suppress a laugh when he saw a blotch of ink at the start of ‘M’ for ‘Mom’, where Katsuki had no doubt held the marker down for too long.
“Looks like you’re yelling at her.” Izuku teased.
“You’re the only employee.” Izuku grinned at Katsuki’s impatient face.
“Total’s on the fucking register, asshat,” he grumbled as he rang it up.
Katsuki looked up at him with a glare, averting his eyes at the mischievous look he found.
“Fuck off.” He said, as he aggressively fished out coins out of the register.
The blond slid both his hands over his face, fuming and muttering curses.
And in that action alone, Izuku got his answer. There was no doubt about it: Katsuki liked him back.
“You—” Katsuki choked, shaking his head in disbelief. “You’re so fucking…”
“And you’re the loser with her as your fuckin’ valentines!” Katsuki roared, red-faced, throwing his change back at him.
“You’re such a fucking idiot.”
“Is this your twisted fucking way of asking me out?”
“You weren’t going to.” Izuku shrugged. “So, can I have your number?”
Izuku threw the bouquet at him with a disgusted noise, and Katsuki caught it with a grin.
“It’s a decoy.” Izuku assured him. “This is the real gift.”
Izuku watched as Katsuki practically threw the bouquet aside to grab them, his eyes wide. They had been talking about this movie for the longest time.
Katsuki came around and crowded him close, gentle hands coming up to cup both sides of his face.
“You bet your fuckin’ mom it is.”
Eventually, they drew apart, both of them red-faced and grinning from ear to ear.
“No you won’t, because it was dumb as fuck,” he leaned forward quickly to give Izuku one final peck on the lips, holding his chin in place.
“I thought it would be funny to see you squirm.” Izuku smiled fondly, before he patted the blond’s shoulder. “Now come on, we have to leave in five minutes if we want to make it on time.”
Katsuki’s eyes widened. “Fuck.”
“What?” Izuku whispered back, eyes glued on the screen.
“Oh my god,” Izuku groaned as Katsuki huffed out a laugh, drawing him close to give him a consolatory kiss on the top of his head. “Shut up about my mom!”
