We're heading towards a recreation of feudalism with a cognitive/economic caste system. Those who are not outmoded via automation will have AI / specialized tutors & send their children to elite private finishing schools while the rest are provided a diversion of prison/daycare.
2
The factory model of pedagogy has been an anachronism for so long that its sole purpose is to enable the expenditure of two-parent (or single parent) labor. Once this labor is unnecessary- the institution will have no purpose besides ideological indoctrination.
3
However- ideological indoctrination has been taken up much more effectively by media spectacle in the last century. We can see this quite clearly when schools send children to see a marvel super hero movies as an "educational experience."
4
Public education has always existed to promote the interests of the State & not of the People- if it ceased to serve the interests of the State- it would be abolished instantly. The problem is that the production of "human resources" is severing itself from State interests.
5
A time is fast approaching when the State realizes that it has populations that are unemployable in the economic superstructure that it exists within. At this point, the interest of the State is in the pacification of these populations & not in their becoming workers.
6
I would argue that this transitional period is already upon us- & has been for some time. We are living through a cataclysmic separation of peoples from the Mass of resource value into a wider hierarchical spectrum of value in which the vast majority have negative/entropic value.
7
If you dig deep into the minds of our "cognitive elite" you will find that they implicitly accept the opioid epidemic as a eugenics program (they are apathetic to the lot who suffer from this). What's worse is that they aren't really wrong.
8
What is to be done with useless eaters?

The answers seem to range from an outright rejection (no such thing as a useless eater), to Zookeeping (welfare state + entertainment pacification), to pre-emptive population culling (this is the least socially acceptable).
9
I reject the rejection- it's naive to believe that every single person in a consumer society with an immensely bloated population is uniquely valuable.

I reject the Zoo of Being, although I understand its allure.

My problem is that I cannot quite accept a planned depopulation.
10
However, it is also naive of me to believe that say, cutting off aid to africa, isn't the same thing at this point as bombing them. We know what the results would be (chaos, death)- & this amounts to a plan as much as any proactive depopulation program.
11
There's not morally acceptable route from here within our human domain of morality. I believe that this is what Nietzsche was getting at. In the Technological Age of Titans, we control behemoths that walk the Earth, & we cannot weep over the ants that are stepped on.
12
If we disarm ourselves of this technology (Kaczynski route), it amounts to the same flood of chaos & death, but without the potential salvations that our Technological Behemoths could potentially provide. It's a retreat into primeval darkness.
13
I don't think that I will be in a position to make or influence these choices- & so I can here resign into a sort of Quietism on the question, though it haunts me.
