Don't set another goal until you can tell me what you're doing Monday morning.

There are a lot of different kinds of goals. The one-year goal I can plan really specifically.

I can plan what I want an athlete to do every day for a whole year. Unless they screw it up, of course. Then we change.

But the most important goal is what I call the immediate goal.

What are you going to do right now?

Any of us could list the benefits of eating better. You're going to live longer, feel better, and you might look better.

Everybody could find a plan for it, and even a time frame. By six months, I'd like to achieve this.

But the decision that counts in all of this is what you do when the cookie's in your hand.

You put it in your mouth, or you put it on the table. That's where progress is made.

I'm about 50-50 on that one.

Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don't.

Stepping back, the long-term goal is the easy one to write.

The immediate one is where the rubber meets the road. So before you set the next big goal, know what you're doing Monday morning.
