HR: We have decided to restructure your position.
Gen Z: Am I being fired?
HR: Not exactly. We're hiring someone with more experience.
Gen Z: For my position?
HR: Yes, but we'd like you to train them before you leave.
Gen Z: Will I receive a promotion for training my replacement?
HR: No.
Gen Z: A bonus?
HR: No.
Gen Z: A severance package?
HR: That's a separate discussion.
Gen Z: So you want me to teach someone how to do my job so you can stop paying me to do it?
HR: We expect professionalism.
Gen Z: Absolutely. Send me the training schedule.
HR: Excellent. I knew you'd understand.
Gen Z: I've scheduled 40 hours of training.

HR: Perfect.
Gen Z: One hour per day.
HR: That will take eight weeks.
Gen Z: Correct.
HR: We need them fully trained by Friday.
Gen Z: Then you should hire someone who already knows the job.
HR: You're being difficult.
Gen Z: I'm being the only person here who understands why you hired me in the first place.
HR: And what exactly is that supposed to mean?
Gen Z: You hired me because I was the cheapest person who could do this job. Now you're asking me to train someone more experienced to do it for less.
HR: That's enough.
Gen Z: No problem. Should I send my resignation now, or wait until my replacement learns how to write it for me?
