‼️ShinyHunters Claims FBI Breach Using Oracle PeopleSoft Zero-Day
The ShinyHunters hacking group claims to have breached multiple FBI-related systems, including the FBI jobs and Special Agent Applicant infrastructure, and stolen data covering all FBI employees and applicants.
ShinyHunters told 404 Media that it exploited an alleged zero-day vulnerability in Oracle PeopleSoft, then gained access to AWS GovCloud servers and exfiltrated approximately 2-3 TB of data. The group provided a sample containing alleged personal information on 5,000 FBI employees, including names, home addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth and, in some cases, information about spouses; 404 Media independently found that some sampled phone numbers corresponded to people with the listed names.
The hacking group also defaced the FBI jobs website, claiming that PII and PHI belonging to current and former employees as well as applicant information had been compromised.
The group said the operation was not financially motivated and described its intended objective as “coercion” rather than extortion.

ShinyHunters just disclosed on its onion blog that it allegedly compromised multiple FBI services, including Criminal Justice (CJ), HR and Medlink, claiming to have obtained highly sensitive information on “almost all” FBI agents and individuals who applied for FBI jobs, including Special Agent applicants.
The group said the operation was carried out in response to what it describes as false allegations contained in an FBI Q2 2026 FLASH report.
ShinyHunters gave the FBI one week to correct or remove the report and threatened a further response if it does not.
