This is a common misconception, plenty of primitive languages are even more isolating & simple than English. Further almost none of them are fusional (one ending with multiple meanings instead of stacking endings) which is what makes Ancient Greek so hard to learn.

it's funny cause until the 19th century the consensus academic view was that primitive cultures' languages were also primitive. "me want eat you give eat" type stuff
