He really believed (and pushed) the claim that these systems are safe from unauthorized access and manipulation. Texas Election Code 122.001 a. 4
So he dared the public to hack them during official testing — cell phones allowed — and gave specific examples of how one could manipulate:
“add votes for a person not on the ballot… or add more than 50 votes for one candidate.”
Kudos to Tarrant County Elections Administrator Clint Ludwig.

Tarrant County official Troy Havard doubled down in the email chain, referring to Republicans and election integrity advocates as “they”:

They zeroed in on two young men typing on cell phones.
The men appeared to continue from the parking lot.
IT chiefs estimated MiFi range ~100 feet. CIO followed them to their car.

County’s public story?
“No successful hacks.”
Their own emails invited wireless attacks. Their test exposed the vulnerabilities, then hid the details from public. Kept using systems that are not safe and buried it as a bluetooth issue. I could find one tiny news org that reported anything on it.
Request email Communications from Election Administrator and CIO to learn what happened.
Why did the TX House and Senate only invite those profiting off our elections?
Why not invite Karen or the other Election Judges across Texas being put in horrible positions by adoption of these defective and deficient corporate systems?

Hart Verity scanner flipped a fully marked vote to undervote and altered the ballot image.
Replicated on another scanner. Witnessed by county employee + Democratic ballot board member.
In real elections, adjudication uses scanner images. A perfect paper ballot with an altered image = undetectable manipulation.
County called it a “glitch.”
If Hart voting system so sensitive to "dust" that it is flipping votes, these systems should not be used.
The people accounted our political power for hundreds of years, time to restore elections by the people. #txlege
