⚡️🧵Communism vs Socialism: The confusion ENDS here. Most people,...

Most people, especially politicians who want to scare the shit out of their base to retain power to destroy our nation, use Socialism and Communism interchangeably when they're NOT the same. And they know it isn't the same. But they also know their base is stupid af. Socialism exists only in a democracy and Communism always spirals into authoritarianism.
Here's a clear, no-bullshit breakdown for those who refuse to do their own research so they can stay ignorant and hateful.
Both come from Karl Marx & Engels in the 1800s.
Socialism = the transitional stage after capitalism. Marx saw socialism as the stepping stone to equality.
Communism = the final goal: a perfect classless, stateless society. Communism was theoretically the utopia at the end.
Socialism: Public/state owns major industries (factories, energy, transport, banks). You can still own your house, car, small business, and personal property.
Communism: Zero private property. Everything is collectively owned. No rich. No poor. No classes.
Socialism: Can be fully democratic. Elected leaders + free elections. (Nordic countries, many European nations)
Communism: Goal is no government at all (the state "withers away"). In practice? Strong central control and often authoritarian.
Socialism: “From each according to ability, to each according to contribution.” You get rewarded based on work/effort.
Communism: “From each according to ability, to each according to need.” Everyone gets what they need — effort doesn’t change your share.
Socialism: Gradual reform through voting, laws, and democracy.
Communism: Usually requires violent revolution to overthrow capitalism.
Socialism: Sweden, Norway, Denmark (high taxes + strong welfare + capitalism mixed in). Many countries have socialist policies (public healthcare, education, unions).
"Communist" countries (USSR, China, Cuba, Vietnam): These were socialist states trying to reach communism. None ever achieved true communism (classless + stateless).
Calling every welfare program or big government “communism” is wrong.
Socialism ≠ gulags or total state control.
Communism = theoretical end goal that has never been reached in practice because authoritarians always take over. Without checks and balances, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Socialism = more equal version of the system we have today (achievable only with democracy). Socialist policies do not mean the government is socialist.
Communism = radical dream of perfect equality with no money, no classes, no state (never achieved because humans are corrupt).
