the bill is an amendment of the 2019 transgender protection act. they want a license to hate us openly. they realize perception about queer ppl are changing more positively so that should be reversed

the bill defines trans people as: those who belong to communities such as kinner, hijra, aravani, jogta, eunuch + intersex people + those who have mutations in chromosome, genitalia, hormones, gonads + ppl who are forcefully transed

more things that became clear to us after discussions with trans and queer comrades across India:

the bill is against ALL transgender, intersex, & queer people at large. it prevents trans people from accessing healthcare and exist with dignity. it fails to provide relevant protections to intersex people. it criminalizes the communities it claims to legitimize - hijras etc

the bill excludes many communities such as kothis, aravans, nupi maanba, babubhai, ranga mai, shivshakti, mangalamuki and many more. it provides no protection to trans people whose identities overlap with queer - gay, lesbian identities

this bill is no different from nazi germany eugenics. this is no different from criminal tribes act. all of which oppressed trans community and pushed us out of the mainstream and jailed us and called us slurs and aberrations to an otherwise perfect homogenous society

the bill also demonizes HRT and gender affirming care saying they are "irreversible changes" to the body and "grievous injury". it seeks to criminalize all those helping transition - doctors, parents, friends, diy networks

legally speaking, BNS already criminalizes kidnapping children for begging. this transphobic bill seems to add another layer to this emphasizing that kidnapping children and adults, with or without consent!! is happening. this is nothing but baseless hatred propaganda

without proper medical care, trans people will be forced to go to private sector doctors who are not trained in transgender healthcare. we will end up getting care from some bogus doctors putting our lives in danger
