The "Spanish Flu" never came from Spain.
It came from Kansas.
America killed 50 million people worldwide, then let Spain take the blame for 100+ years.
The 2025 genetic evidence just proved it - and the cover-up is more sinister than anyone imagined 🧵

March 4, 1918: Camp Funston, Kansas. Cook Albert Gitchell reports flu symptoms.
By day's end, 100+ soldiers infected.
Within weeks: 38 dead.
This wasn't just patient zero - this was ground zero for history's deadliest pandemic.
But America buried the story.

The name "Spanish Flu" wasn't geography - it was propaganda.
While Spain reported the outbreak honestly, America, Britain, France, and Germany censored all flu news.
Can't show weakness during WWI, right?
So neutral Spain got blamed for everyone else's lies.

Here's what really happened in Kansas: Haskell County farmers raised pigs, poultry, and crops together.
Perfect viral breeding ground.
Dust storms that spring mixed bird droppings and manure ash in the air.
The H1N1 virus jumped directly from birds to humans - no pigs needed.

Dr. Loring Miner saw it first. January 1918, Haskell County.
"Influenza of the severe type" hitting healthy young adults - not typical flu patterns.
He warned public health officials. They ignored him.
Two months later, it exploded at nearby Camp Funston.

The U.S. military became the world's super-spreader.
Infected Kansas troops shipped to Europe in packed boats.
Dozens died mid-voyage.
By summer 1918, it ravaged French ports, then spread through trenches to every continent.
America exported death globally.

Want proof?
2025 Swiss scientists reconstructed the full genome from preserved lung tissue.
The mutations in hemagglutinin and polymerase genes?
Identical to North American bird samples.
Not Chinese. Not French. American.
The genetic evidence is undeniable.

China theory?
Debunked.
The 96,000 Chinese laborers shipped to Europe in 1917 were victims, not vectors.
Lower Chinese mortality in 1918 suggests they faced it earlier and built immunity.
But the virus didn't start there - it came from Kansas and hit them first.

France's Étaples camp outbreak in 1916?
Similar symptoms, wrong timeline.
Recent phylogenetic analysis shows the 1918 strain evolved from North American avian flu around 1915.
Europe's cases all trace back to American troops. Not the other way around.

The deadliest part wasn't the origin - it was the cover-up.
Cities like Philadelphia ignored warnings, held massive war bond parades.
Result?
10x higher death rates than careful cities like St. Louis. Censorship killed more people than the virus needed to.

This killed young, healthy adults through cytokine storms - their strong immune systems turned against them.
The "W-shaped" mortality curve was unlike any flu before or since.
675,000 Americans died. 50 million worldwide.
More than WWI's total casualties.

Here's the real controversy: America has never officially acknowledged Kansas as the origin.
A century later, we still call it "Spanish Flu" in textbooks.
Spain gets blamed for America's pandemic while we pretend our heartland wasn't ground zero.

The parallels to COVID-19 are chilling.
Censorship, blame games, origin cover-ups - we learned nothing.
If Kansas 1918 teaches us anything, it's that pandemics can start anywhere, even America's breadbasket, and lies make everything worse.
