Adolf Hitler & the All-Father🧵

In 1936, Carl Jung argued that the collective frenzy in Nazi Germany was due to a resurgence of the ancient "All-Father" Wotan. He believed Wotan had "possessed" Hitler. Germany had not chosen HITLER, Wotan had chosen Germany through him.

Jung explained Wotan as an "the god of the storm and frenzy, the unleasher of passions and the lust of battle; moreover he is superlative magician and artist in illusion who is versed in all secrets of an occult nature."

Jung says Christians turned this archetype into the Devil.

Jung saw a distinctive difference in the psychological differences between the “Aryan” and “Semitic” mind.

The Jewish psyche was “historical” rooted in continuity, memory and tradition. It was the consciousness of the Torah, the law, and exile.

The Aryan psyche was “mythological", inclined toward projection, paganism and direct identification with gods. It was more like a raw archetypal container waiting to be filled by mythic possession.

This "psychic vacuum” made Germany uniquely vulnerable to this archetype.

This manifested as Adolf Hitler. Jung observed that Hitler did not speak with his own voice but as a channel for something “from elsewhere".

His speeches hypnotized not because of content but because he embodied an archetypal god force.

Germans became seized by this archetype.

The Nazis reduced “Aryanism” to just blood and race. But, Jung saw it differently: Aryanism was a psychic mythos, the archetype of the Solar Being, of Faustian ambition, of pagan heroism suppressed for centuries under Christianity.

Naturally, every archetype has it's polarity. Where Judaism anchored itself in covenant and history, Aryanism attempted to resurrect forgotten gods. Nazism was less about biology than about the collective psyche’s rebellion against Christian restraint and Jewish continuity.

If Jews were “the people of the Book” (law, order, Yahweh), the Aryans were the “people of Blood” (instinct, soil, Wotan).

Jung saw Zionism and Aryanism as psychic opposites yet mirror images, two attempts to return to origins, one rooted in Covenant, the other in Blood.

Thus, there was a strange symmetry between Zionism and Aryanism:

Zionism gave form to the Jewish archetype of historical return through homeland, temple, covenant. While Aryanism gave form to the Germanic archetype of mythic return through gods, soil, blood.

Both movements were eruptions of unconscious archetypes onto the stage of world history.

The People of the Blood vs. The People of the Book, two archetypal projects manifesting at the same time, one solar-mythic, the other lunar-historic.

Jung described Hitler as a “shamanic medium", a hollow man with no true personality but this very emptiness allowed him to serve as a vessel for the German OVERSOUL.

Hitler did not individuate (consciously integrate archetypes into the psyche); instead, he was consumed by them.

Instead of integration of the shadow, Hitler became projection of the “chosen hero.”

To Jung, Hitler symbolized the anti-Christ archetype, BUT not because of Christian dogma, but because he was a collective substitute for inner transformation.

People followed him instead of individuating their own shadow. Jung believed the Nazis embodied the collective Shadow of Europe, all the repressed instincts, violence and paganism of the West, erupting after centuries of Christian suppression.

Hitler forced Europe to confront the darkness it had denied.

Nazism actualized the mythic frenzy in the Third Reich. Zionism actualized the covenant in the State of Israel. The resulting shadow was the Holocaust, the unconscious sacrifice born from the collision of Archetypes.

It's worth noting this eerie sense of archetypal inevitability surrounded Hitler’s rise.

In 1889, the year of Hitler’s birth, Franz von Stuck painted (or as he said "channeled") "The Wild Chase", depicting Wotan as a furious rider of storms, which looks like the Fuhrer.

Ernst Jünger, who like Jung believed an archetypical "force" was guiding events, became very disillusioned by Nazism. He called Hitler Kniébolo (“kneel to the Devil”), warning that "by abandoning social bonds, we (Germany) had unleashed something subterranean."

It is not a coincidence, the Thule Society were having young maidens practice old pagan VRIL rituals, believing they could channel otherworldly energies, the same archetypal current Jung saw animating Hitler.

All signs point to Hitler’s role as an archetypal destiny.

It's a valid question: was Nazism a case study in occult possession?Did Hitler and his circle, knowingly or not, tap into creative and destructive powers from the aether?

Jung’s warning was clear: interacting with archetypal energies without consciousness invites catastrophe.

Archetypes are not toys, they are godforms. To be seized by them is to lose the SELF.

Hitler embodied the Germanic unconscious, the “Aryan myth,” and through him the forgotten gods demanded sacrifice.

Undoubtedly, the collision of Aryanism & Zionism shaped the 20th century.
