I wanted to see Zohran Mamdani as the NYC version of Ahmed al-Sharaa. A lesson of how people can change. Yet while al-Sharaa has a consistent message that is pluralistic and pro-market, it appears Mamdani has picked up a few talking points but still adheres to the old ideology.
