Green Cards are not visas. The INS itself describes it as "a Permanent Resident Card allows you to live and work permanently in the United States."

It's often used when US citizens marry foreign nationals, as Trump did twice and as Khalil's wife did. Permanent residents constantly engage in political activism and always have.
