Even in non romantic, utilitarian reproduction endeavors career women do (sperm banks, intentional single motherhood from a rich guy, etc.), most women are horrifically bad at picking fathers. I remember a Washington Post article years ago of a group of women who all chose a handsome blonde guy’s sperm sample to have kids from and completely missed that he was severely autistic, and as a result half these kids ended up suffering from the same condition, randomly yelling “hashbrown” and such.
