For months, an invisible war has been raging within the party over its direction. The liberal wing is against remigration, wants an immediate coalition with the CDU, and to distance itself from right-wing groups. The authentic right-wingers in the AfD are working against this.

But the good forces in the AfD were working hard in the background. I won't give you names. Suffice it to say: they won the invisible war. Alice Weidel declared her support for remigration. When she talks about mass deportations, she ends her statement with “”If it's called 'remigration', then it's called 'remigration'”.

In all likelihood, the afD will not yet be part of the next government. This election is about something else: it is about the soul of the party. It is about the question of whether the AfD can remain a force for remigration. This day was a good day. And the party reached 22% in the polls today!
