This teacher says he uses Critical Race Theory in the classroom, and anyone who doesn't want CRT in schools is racist.

So.... Let's talk about how the Department of Education spent millions of dollars putting Critical Race Theory in k-12 schools.

Many on the left claim there is no CRT in education, but that isn't true.

Two of the founders of CRT (Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic) explain that while CRT started in law, it quickly moved into education. They even say CRT is more lively in education than it is in Law!

Now, the person who is most responsible for moving CRT from law into education is probably Gloria Ladsen Billings.

LAdsen Billings wrote a book called "Critical Race Theory in Education" which explains the history of CRT in education and her role in making that happen.

Billings explains how she brought CRT into education, and explained how CRT could be applied. (pics 1+2)

She also invented "Culturally Relevant Pedagogy" a method to get students to develop "Critical Consciousness," which is an idea she got from MArxist thinker Paulo Freire.

Billings was not alone

Marvin Lynn and Michael E. Jennings wrote an article explaining how CRT was wedded to Critical Pedagogy in 1999 to create "Critical Race Pedagogy" (pics 1-3)

Marvin Lynn went on to help create "The Handbook of Critical Race Theory in Education" (pic 4)

The IES is the research Arm of the Department of education, and they fund research about implementing CRT in education.

For example, this hand out discusses the importance of Gloria Ladsen-Billings' Culturally Responsive Education, which makes use of Critical Race Theory.

The IES gave a grant for *$1,399,000* to a researcher trying to increase the "Critical Consciousness" of students.

Critical Consciousness is a Marxist idea. It is "socio-political consciousness to help student be "Critical" of the norms and values that allow "inequality."

The REL (Regional Education Libraries) published pieces about using Culturally Responsive Pedagogy in the classroom, with the goal of supporting students socio-political consciousness and helping students explore "social Justice."

This is leftist politics in the classroom.

In short, the Department of Education is funding pedagogies (teaching methods) that bring various Marxist, neo-marxist, and leftist political ideologies into the classroom.

The DOE then uses its credibility to legitimize the use of what amounts to political indoctrination.

In 1990 philosopher John Searle captured the goal of Critical Pedagogy perfectly when discussing the work of Critical Theorist Henry Giroux:

"Notwithstanding its opaque prose, Giroux’s message should be clear: the aim of a liberal education is to create political radicals"

The goal of all of these "pedagogies" (culturally relevant pedagogy, culturally responsive Pedagogy, culturally sustaining pedagogy, critical race pedagogy, critical pedagogy, anti-racist pedagogy, etc) is to use education to turn students into leftist political activists.

The people who created these methods of teaching were very cleat about the fact that they were designed to teach student to see the world through the lens of leftists politics, and to change society by radicalizing students.

They were very clear about this.

The the Department of education has been funding and legitimizing this political project and spreading it throughout the U.S. education system.

The DOE needs to be audited (so we can see exactly what damage they did) and then dismantled, and abolished in a slow orderly way.
