I know there were a lot of early takes last week that the Dem base stayed home. But as the votes continue to be counted, we now know that Harris won more votes than Biden in 4 of 7 battlegrounds and ran almost exactly even with him across the 7 states.

If you factor in some amount of vote switching to Trump in these states, we may find that Dem base turnout actually exceeded 2020 in some of the battlegrounds. GOP turnout just surged more.

And the national numbers are misleading because it is clear Dem base turnout WAS bad outside of the battlegrounds. Which is how Trump won the national popular vote.

Another way to look at this: Kamala Harris won more votes than any Dem presidential candidate, ever, in NV, NC, GA and WI... but Donald Trump won more than any candidate of either party, every, in those four states.
