No one can force you to do anything, not even God*. This is one of...

The only Person to fully carry out the will of the Father perfectly is Jesus. But the Father didn't force Him either, this is explained by the sometimes awkward (to us) conversations between Jesus and the Father that we were made privy of. Jesus let us know that essentially His will would have been for this cup to pass, but that not His will be done but the Father's. He also says elsewhere that he does not His will but the will of His Father. These statements are not mutually exclusive.
Jesus could have chosen to do what all the prophets did (misstep at some point or another) but He didn't, He was bound to perfection but He also achieved it, while facing temptation as we all do in the flesh, not any less or somehow obscured by His divinity. Jesus is the perfect man by virtue of his sinlessness though being God and perfect was equally tempted like men but succumbed not. This is what is meant by you must believe that Jesus came in the flesh, God incarnated into man, fully divine but also fully man.
