It's funny how the discourse against "Christian Nationalism" from Christians is the assertion that America is not founded upon Christianity-- a view that cannot even be remotely upheld upon any investigation whatsoever. John Adams literally said "Christ is King" when rallying the revolution against George III.

Thomas Paine:
"But where says some is the King of America? I'll tell you Friend, he reigns above, and doth not make havoc of mankind like the Royal Brute of Britain."

Now, what they meant by that was the opposite of a "Christian Theocracy" -- rather, they invented the notion of State Atheism-- which is, Freedom of Religion-- because they believed Christianity to objectively outcompete all other religions, & were not partisans in the particular nature of that Christianity. IE: they enjoyed a polity of diverse christians, mennonites, anabaptists, calvinists, catholics, Episcopalians, universalists, unitarians, deists, etc etc etc
