Chu Wanning is furious. Somehow this is /worse/.

He can't fall asleep at all. He misses the warm presence of Mo Ran's body next to him.

"A-Ning?"

Chu Wanning stills. He pretends to be asleep as not to worry Shizun.

After a while with no response, Chu Wanning hears Mo Ran stirring, but he still makes no move.

He hears steps approaching his bed.

Suddenly a light touch to his face.

Chu Wanning suppresses a shudder.

A stab pierces through Chu Wanning's heart.

He wants to tell Mo Ran that he's /right here/.

But Chu Wanning remains silent. He's clearly sick in some way. He can't drag his Shizun to his lowly level.

Mo Ran lets out a sigh. The touch on his skin withdraws, and he hears Mo Ran back away and lie down again.

Once Mo Ran's breaths have slowed and deepened, Chu Wanning dares to sneak a glance at him.

But, /Oh./ What a mistake that was.

For the first time Chu Wanning seems to understand what it means to /yearn/.

His body acts before he can stop himself, and soon Chu Wanning finds himself making his movements as light as possible, as he crawls into the space next to Mo Ran.

Not daring to let out any loud breaths, he settles in when suddenly arms circle his waist.

Chu Wanning stiffens, but doesn't dare to turn his head, so he just lets himself be dragged into the embrace he longed for.

The familiar scent enevloping him.

The warmth lulling him in.

"Don't leave me again..." Mo Ran murmurs sleepily.

Chu Wanning doesn't reply, but instead melts against Mo Ran, and finally, sleep overcomes him.
