Reading vol 40 to see the changes.

First change right away. They added speed lines to make the crash more impactful and there is more debris above All Might.

The trail of AFO's scratches on the wall is longer and there are small explosions to show the force of AFO's tendrils. The tones of the rainy sky changed too.

The rubble was redrawn and they retouched the hole in the wall.

A better contrast between the background and the light Hagakure reflects.

They forgot the thought bubbles in the weekly chapter. It's fixed now.

Small change in the dialogue.

It went from "I couldn't load myself up with more power than this" to "It doesn't get more powerful than this".
It changed from the capacity to carry power to how much it generates (correct me if I'm wrong pls)

Little shade on the kid's arms.

"Since she's 'invisible', Hagakure has been able to slip through the regulations on costume exposure that Midnight once set in motion, but what will happen in this case now?"

IT'S HAPPENING!! SHE'S GETTING A HERO COSTUME!!!

-The blood speaks for itself...
-AFO is now covered in blood and Stain's katana was added.

-Added the blood they forgot on Stain in the weekly chapter and drew a pool of blood at AFO's feet.
-Changed the katana handle
-Made Stain getting crushed more impressive.
-Added more backgrounds

They drew the city Shigaraki and Deku were fighting in, a better sky, redrew U.A again, added more rain and even the details on AFO's cloth are different.

-They moved the text for some reason...?

The traces of AM's vessel fading are slightly different.

More memories of Deku.

With a bit of shade, AM is even MORE unhinged.

Some changes to the pressure on the city and U.A

Katsuki's blood was scattered by his explosions, the rain and wind, so AFO couldn't lick it...

Deku, Katsuki, and Todoroki received a gift from All Might (in Todoroki's case, he got words of encouragement)

Screentone working its magic! The blurry shade gives the illusion he's so fast, even the trail of smoke is twisting and turning in all directions!

In the volume version, they lightened the shadow in his forehead (he's shining bright, about to explode) and finished the sparkles that had incomplete screentones. The button on his collar was inked too and the corner of his lip has new blood.

Better linework and shading here.

They changed the vibe so hard!! It doesn't even look by the same author with the dramatic effect of light and shadow!!

Small parts.

They fixed most of the chapter in the volume. (Horikoshi took a break after 407)

The blood added to his shirt is so eery.

In the volume, Yoichi is losing himself in the darkness and the only light comes from their hands. Ah, poetry.

Absolutely wild.

Some redraws around Hawk and a slight change to Bakugo's direction. The missing dialogue was moved to a different page.

The fact that Kacchan was there was shaped by the actions and dreams of many people, and he knows it *sobs* It's all part of their story.

Perfect.

Who on the staff enjoys drawing water? They changed the panel even though it was fine already...

and the random panel of water was the last detail they fixed (if you can call it that)

Tamaki on the spine and the flap art is Mama Might and Baby Might. We'll have to wait until the third character guide to know her name :(

The obi

Vol. 40 came out along with TUM vol. 6 so Akiyama and Horikoshi traded art with each other. They both drew Kacchan.

The back cover also has Kacchan. It's all a celebration of his comeback!!

Stuff I forgot. Small changes in the dialogue:

-They added "All Might is gonna die!" instead of repeating the same "AM's gone! GONE!"
-They forgot the Kacchan speech pattern in the dialogue. He sounded too formal.

The assistants, the people responsible for most of the changes you saw. The real heroes.
