i know some find this series confusing, but trust me, the more you rewatch, the more you will pick on and connect the dots.

such a pity that the runtime is short, but we can understand the plot more through hidden details.
3
even the author said, there’s no right or wrong and we can have our own interpretation about the story. the plot may have imperfections but lets not nitpicking it too much 🥰

so here are some details that i found, i read somewhere or from the webtoon. feel free to join in 💕

1. why myungha got a second chance?

- he wished under the shooting stars
- he regretted it
- he’s still lingering at “the bar” (for about a year)

=> the senior (fate/death) fulfill his wish
0:18
5
- he doesn’t like how life is determined by fate

6
- the quiz is what myungha wants

=> base on that, the senior converted it into a game as small missions, with the main goals to find yeowoon’s happiness
but as helping yeowoon, he is helping himself and earning his own happiness (friends, grandma, soulmate) too

7
to have happiness, you have to fight and earn it, that’s the meaning of this “game”
8
2. why yeowoon?

- their life shared a lot in common, mostly suffers (myungha could relate a lot with him when reading the novel)
- yeowoon wished for happiness under the shooting stars too
0:14
9
3. worlds (or i would say timelines)

- myungha’s first life (4:3 ratio)
- after-death’s fantasy (16:9)
- gameplay (2.35:1)

myungha got to went back to the timeline where he was 19, just with some of his 29 memories and yeowoon’s information
(same approach as “marry my husband”)
@klvnism
klvn@klvnism
in this moment, where they reconnect, the frame ratio changes from 2.35:1 to 16:9

if you notice, every real life scenes was in 16:9, in-game scenes in 2.35:1 (cinematic ratio). this is a sign that they are in a same world now.

after their missions complete (both’s happiness), they stay in the same world now.

the gameplay was in “cinematic” frame ratio, thats why we have this credit pop up, with the character names (myungha, yeowoon,…) but not the actors name => signaling that the game has ended

one more time when screen frame was used to express their virtual “world”

another one, in this scene their frame all match with their devices:

- sia: tablet
- kyunghoon: laptop
- sangwon: phone

if you remember the first scene myungha woke up in class, there were underwater sound and now we know why 😭

they really put effort into the cinematography
@klvnism
klvn@klvnism
the way they use this back shot to portray the characters' loneliness and isolation from others 🥺

heavy on yeowoon when he first came to myungha's house and saw how happy he was with his grandmother

4. errors messages
@aibarisu
affie@aibarisu
the error messages in #LoveForLovesSake are to show myungha's hesitancy of opening himself up to others

these happened when myungha hid his feelings or sufferings with others

I thought this was apparent when it was revealed that the game was for him and not yeowoon. The game was forcing him to choose himself. The author's pen also was supposed to be used on himself. At that moment he should've had the urge to stay in the game but he selflessly
16
5. why grandma vs. yeowoon

remember, he just went back in time with the same events gonna happen

thanks to ops’ explaination
@_ddreii
ً@_ddreii
@ssilversummer I think it was mimicking the real world's timeline. As cruel as it is, his grandma was supposed to die at that moment. He was seeing himself through yeowoon in the game. By choosing yeowoon he was choosing himself. He wasn't doing what the game was intended to. So the game saw+

6. that senior/sunbae

these texts turned out to be from the sunbae, reading back, i feel like this would be from someone who lost their beloved one and missing them

judging from the first text (ice-cream), the sunbae may be able to watch him in this timeline.

“from. sunbae”
his last text after that encounter with myungha

“your hope”: everything myungha wished for

7. why only her remembered myungha?

she is myungha’s ex from his first life. for me, she is the guardian angel for both of them in this timeline, she reached out first and offered to help them with the mission (insta followers) and reminded yeowoon of him

8. author’s wordplays 🥹
i really love wordplays so these details stood out to me A LOT

starting with our boy names:
@klvnism
klvn@klvnism
YEOWOON-MYUNGHA: the 'fate' couple (운명 커플) 💕

putting their names together, '운명' (woonmyung) in korean means fate, destiny

considering the story's focus on altering one's fate, this is what the author had in mind when naming them too
— #LoveForLovesSake #연애지상주의구역

21
the last sentence “좋아해“, myungha said it without the subject, so it could be understand as “like it” or “i like you” which left yeowoon panicked 😭
0:10
22
i always found it funny when they named him An Kyung-hoon (안경훈) because 안경 (Ankyung) in korean means glasses 😭 his image basically attached with that for the nerdy look.

in this scene, Sangwon called him An Kyung-hyung (안경형) which mean Glasses Bro 😭

9. hyung/sunbae

as we know, hyung is an informal way to call an older guy, only as they are close together

surprisingly, sangwon never call myungha “sunbae” and yeowoon never call him “hyung” the whole series 😭

the TWO only time yeowoon being informal, called his full name:

24
10. what did myungha bought when he got the fever

it’s the medals yeowoon won, that his dad sold it
then myungha found it and bought back with the money he worked hard for

11. last scene dialogues

only god know why they hide these under that loud music 😭

@klvnism
klvn@klvnism
"i'm not going anywhere anymore"
"really??"😭😭😭

(i tried to process the sound so it would be easier to hear)

there’s may or may not more to add so 🤪

we already know the texts is from that sunbae who is missing him
rewatching the show made me realized that he still keeps the flowerpot myungha gave him at the bar. he may had broke it later on 🥹

the flower pot here was shown on purpose bc the flower is Centaurea cyanus which means "happiness" (the topic that lfls focused on)

and it's even touching in english flower terminology bc it means "symbol of hope" which honestly i feel like fits better w lfls
