When we talk about the pendulum swinging, you probably imagine it swinging in a very simple back and forth: it goes Left, it comes back Right to roughly the same extreme. This is not how the dialectical operative understands or uses the pendulum swing. The gif below is closer.

The pendulum might be moving back and forth in its own reference frame, but the dialectical operators (Hermeticists) are moving the reference frame so that it's going somewhere. The Left-Right swing allows it to avoid resistance that inevitably mounts against either extreme.

This tactic is based off the Hermetic principles of transformation, so it's something they know they're doing with specific intention. The idea is to move history toward its intended end (Platonic perfection) not in a straight line but in a spiral (or by sinusoid, snakey).

The key is understanding that the pendulum is swinging, but the Hermeticists have control of the bob (or reference frame in other ways). They make it swing back and forth while moving in a purposeful direction in another direction. That's one thing.

They also change the length of the bob, so to speak. If the bob is going to swing back at them, they go up or down a level in the other orthogonal dimension so it hits an enemy instead. It's hard to describe this, but imagine suddenly making it shorter so it goes over your head.

They do this strategically and intentionally. It's explicitly the Principles of Vibration and Rhythm. The pendulum is Rhythm. Vibration allows them to change the frequency (bob length) so it hits somewhere else on swingback. It's an operational strategy to manipulate outcomes.

Thirdly, they can rotate the reference frame so that the pendulum swings back and hits a different point around the rim of the circle than where it left. Kinda like this. This is a different way for them to strike two enemies with one swing and advance their agendas.

So, the pendulum won't swing back to Constitutional conservatism from Communist provocation but toward Fascism, which helps them achieve their goals. When it comes back, it comes back somewhere slightly different and eventually makes its way all the way around if needed.

The point is that the pendulum swing isn't from "their side" back to "our side," and they depend on lots of people believing it does do that. Calling out and disrupting their strategies requires understanding how they manipulate the circumstances like this clearly.
