It’s good to read when you are lonely— but then there’s always that horrible feeling of being so deeply moved by something that no one else around you knows about— & how awful it is to extend the book to another, & they don’t read it.

Read One Piece— part of the joy of it is that normal people read it too, like how it used to be, when normal people would read a book a week, & talk about them.

But even then— the conversation is always “& wasn’t that just swell?” “Yes, swell.” “So swell.” “So swell.” “So great.” “Amazing.”
