Jungkook hurries, “sorry, hyung-” “It's okay,” Namjoon waves, “you...

“It's okay,” Namjoon waves, “you can take it off later.”
He pushes the ring up the finger. Jungkook watches how the thick band of the platinum ring from Namjoon hides the other ring underneath.
He smiles when everyone claps, cheering for them.
Namjoon sees the frown on his face, his eyes flicker down for a second, “sorry. I was nervous.”
Jungkook shrugs, “it's okay.”
There is a pause before Namjoon cups Jungkook's face, “I am sorry. I will be good. Sorry.”
Namjoon's eyes gloss over, “I promise, koo,” he whispers, “I will be the best version of myself for you. I promise.”
Jungkook's heart clenches, something feels so missing in Namjoon, “tell me what's wrong.”
“You two!” Mr. Kim interrupts.
Jungkook stands beside Namjoon. Namjoon fidgets. His eyes wavering. Jungkook notices the unease in the man's form. Namjoon flinches when Jungkook reaches to take his hand in his.
“Come with me,” Jungkook murmurs.
Jungkook takes Namjoon to his bedroom, closing the door behind them.
“Tell me, what's wrong?” Jungkook demands, “hyung, you are not lying to me anymore! I deserve to know. Please.”
“Tell me,” he begs, feeling how cold those hands are, “what's wrong?”
Namjoon swallows, looking away, “I don't know how to-” he gulps, “where to start.”
“I am here,” Jungkook assures.
Jungkook guides the man to his bed. Making him sit at the edge and sitting down himself.
Namjoon breathes out, “first, I really love you.”
Jungkook listens. His eyes focused on Namjoon.
Jungkook reaches to grasp Namjoon's arm, nodding for him to go on. Namjoon looks at Jungkook, face crumbling.
Jungkook does. He nods.
“I get you,” Jungkook murmurs, “I feel the same. I love you. We are perfect together. We match. But,” he rubs Namjoon's back, “what is about this guy? What do you mean?”
Namjoon nods, “I don't know what I-”
“Do you love him?” Jungkook wonders.
Namjoon goes still, “no! No, I don't. That's not the case!”
Jungkook tilts his head, “hyung, then what's the matter? Who is it?”
Namjoon swallows, “Jin.”
Namjoon looks at him, “I don't know. Is it?”
Jungkook smiles, “hyung, it must be that. You are so dependent on him. He has been with you for so long. I think it's making you worried.”
Jungkook nods, smile wide on his face, “yeah. Just that. You are worried. About him. About your future. Nothing else.”
Jungkook gives a nod, “good. I am glad we talked. Thank you for telling me what was making you sad, hyung. But,” his eyes wander over Namjoon's face, “can I ask something?”
Jungkook breathes out, “yeah, I know. That's all I need to know.”
Namjoon gives him a fond shake of his head, “you are so adorable. Everyone is waiting for us downstairs, though.”
Jungkook shrugs, “they will understand.”
It's almost past 11 when he makes his way home.
“What,” Taehyung takes a hesitant step forward, “what is all this?”
Taehyung walks up to the elder, looking at all those things with a smile, “thank you, hyung. You really didn't have to!”
Taehyung does, letting Seojoon follow him inside. He watches Seojoon work. Place the cake on the kitchen counter. Light up the candle. Leave the balloons around the living room.
They go to sit on the couch, sharing the food Seojoon brought along with him while watching a movie.
Taehyung watches Seojoon lean in, capturing his lips for a gentle kiss. Taehyung kisses back.
“Is this okay?” Seojoon asks, stopping at his belt.
Taehyung nods, eager, “yeah. It's okay.”
Taehyung looks at Seojoon. The elder sleeping on his chest, face buried in the pillow. One arm casually resting on Taehyung's waist. Taehyung gets out of the bed, grabbing his boxers and shirt. He picks up the box of cigarettes and lighter before going to the balcony.
Taehyung picks him up on his lap and sits, smoking in silence. When his phone rings, Taehyung groans.
“Go, get me my phone,” Taehyung puts Yeontan down, looking at him, “come on.”
Taehyung groans, “I feed you, man! Come on!”
He gets up to get the phone, muttering how ungrateful kids these days are.
Jungkook chuckles, “sorry, were you sleeping?”
Taehyung goes back to the balcony, “nah. Was having a life lesson that your kids don't love you as much as you love them. It hurts.”
Taehyung sits, looking outside through the glass of the balcony, “great. I didn't know that.”
There is a silence afterwards. Taehyung doesn't know what to say.
“Hey,” Taehyung waves his hand, “you were busy. I get it. How was the engagement? Jiminie said, it was amazing.”
Jungkook smiles, “it was amazing. The party lasted too late.”
Taehyung hums, “I had the best day. Kept watching Hobi hyung's soul leaving his body on every ride. Yoongi hyung screaming his ass off. Then the clubbing...”
“You hooked up,” Jungkook laughs, “birthday sex, huh?”
Taehyung's face heats up, “no need to laugh. I might have done that.”
Taehyung thinks, “hmm, I have a shift. Then I will go to recording. Then, I am free.”
“Want to meet up?” Jungkook asks, “we can celebrate your birthday!”
Jungkook laughs, “surely, birthday boy. Okay, I will pick you up, then. Hyung?”
“Hmm?”
Jungkook sighs, “I am glad you spent a good day. You deserve the break.”
Taehyung smiles.
Taehyung accepts to himself he loves Jungkook the next day. When the younger comes over with a car full of balloons, a banner of Taehyung's name, a huge cake and his huge smile.
Taehyung also realizes, loving Jungkook is easy. Most of the time. Okay, 90% of the time.
