All the stories about “double” even “triple” agents of MI5 and the Soviet Counterintelligence program remind me more of “Republicans vs Democrats” or the “adversarial system” of planning.

If you embed an agent anywhere, they can be described at any time as a “double agent” or “triple agent” based entirely on the state of the mission— your job is to be a liason between two intelligence agencies, if things go south for one side you’ve suddenly “gone rogue”
3
There’s no objective means of establishing “what side an embedded agent is working for” — it’s epistemologically distinct from a position in an intelligence agency “on one side”— to play the liason is to be a third thing
4
Does the FBI embedded agent in the white nationalist group become a real white nationalist? Maybe if the operation goes badly & they need to burn him, maybe he’s only a double agent if the FBI fucks up, & if the FBI succeeds then he’s a “triple agent” etc
5
Theres a feedback loop effect of both intelligence agencies modeling the other & then simulating their actions— war gaming— they plan each others moves
6
We planned to provoke Putin going into Ukraine— the intel agencies seek to force enemy regimes to follow the plans we’ve made for them
7
We are trying to produce a war in Taiwan too— we are planning for it, doing whatever we think we can to provoke that response
8
If either become a failure, there will be a ton of stories about “double agents” — thats the explanation every time— “Trump was a russian double agent”

“Lenin had spent 12 months in London, in 1902-3. He mainly divided his time between researching and writing at the British Museum reading room”

“Kerensky's father was the teacher of Vladimir Ulyanov (Lenin), and members of the Kerensky and Ulyanov families were friends”

We’re still living in the great game of Tenet, Russia & Britain playing the great game, Gog & Magog
