Twitch Star Hasan thinks One Piece is socialist (and he’s right): bit.ly/3Ud6CMk

Using the word "socialist" in the 21st century is just giving it away that you're an idiot-- we've had socialism for 100 years-- everything in the last 100 years has been "socialist" in some manner. The Rockefellers were socialists. It's so wishy-washy blah blah blah
3
One Piece is not "Socialist"-- One Piece is a World Historical Anatomical Romance in the tradition of James Joyce & William Blake. Oda was clearly influenced by Mangaka's vogue for Northrop Frye & Blake. He's operating in a much larger tradition that subsumes "socialism"
4
Why not say "Communist"? Because that's too specific. "Socialist" is like "Progressive" but for "Ultra Progressive Bernie Bros" who are actually Democratic Socialists & actually just Nordophilic Radical Liberals & the vanguard of contemporary fascism.
5
If you say "Communist" then you have to defend a real historically material counter-hegemony to Liberalism-- & that means you're a geopolitical traitor to NATO hegemony & will be treated as such-- as an "enemy combatant" -- it's all just posturing
6
"Luffy would have voted for Bernie for sure bro"
7
"Luffy would have realized that Biden was the lesser of two evils, it's not like a standard Oda twist where the seeming bad guy Trump was actually less bad than Biden, that's not what One Piece is like"
8
Luffy is literally fighting "Globalism" lol

Anyway, if you're actually interested in this stuff-- William Blake in a lot of ways represents to the Japanese that the most avant-garde poet of the British Empire made Manga/Ukiyo-e style prints. So much manga is about engaging with the western literary tradition.
10
Western illiterates believe that Japanese people are just illiterate mongrels who can only reference & be inspired by the delimited frame of reference that most western illiterate sluggish gaping auditors are aware of. "There's no way Eiichiro Oda reads James Joyce."
11
"Eiichiro Oda's only inspirations were other mangas, he's probably never read a book, he also doesn't know anything about history or politics so I'm *revealing* to you that his work is *unconsciously* "socialist" & by that I mean that I like it & I'm a "socialist""
12
The "One Piece Fandom Discourse" is also the most embarrassing thing-- I pray that the discussions of it in Japanese that I can't read are better than what's written about it in English.
13
You're talking about the Shakespeare of our time when you talk about Oda-- put some respect on him. He's going to be remembered alongside Shakespeare & William Blake-- he's writing world historical literature.
