You can dress up the verbiage around "Nerds read books but Epic Winners learn by doing" however you want, it's still an admission of resentment for the fact that you're illiterate & afraid of the authority of the Word to negate your "actions" in Time to their description in text.

Book Reader: "You are going to die. Nobody will immortalize your acts in words that echo down the corridors of time. You will be forgotten forever."

If what you're doing is so epic, stop talking about it. Let other people talk about it for you. Oh wait-- nobody cares-- you have to use words to communicate why anyone would care about you in the first place. You have to convince us that you're truly Doing Epic Stuff.
