People think that the Founders gave a shit about Locke, when the actual foundation of the American Constitution is Deuteronomy. The "Philosopher" most cited by the Founding Fathers are Jesus Christ & Saint Paul.

If you want to understand the Founding Fathers you have to read Milton, Algernon Sidney, William Shakespeare, John Trenchard, &c. It's much later that "The Enlightenment" is presented as the foreground of American Republicanism-- it's not actually true.

The Republic of Israel-- ie: Biblical Commonwealth Republicanism-- was the basis for the American Polity from its foundation in the 17th century. We ignore this because it's "overdetermined"-- it's too Christian-- it's not "Secular" enough of an origin.

Why did the Constitution explicitly deny the Federal Government a right to a standing army?
Because that's the actual Commonwealth Republican conception of the standing army, as something deleterious to a nation's liberties, which ought not exist.
5
Nobody cares about this anymore-- there's a new history, a "global history" which denies the legitimacy of america from its inception as "a project of colonial expansion & genocide"-- this "post-americanism" is inscribed in the legal code of "the international community"

We have a Standing Army which governs the Republic-- this isn't America. This isn't a Republic or a Commonwealth. This is a Papist Tyranny of World Historical Gangsterism. That's what the Founders would call it.

The President's a Catholic, the Supreme Court is Catholic, we're defending Catholicism in Ukraine. Are there any American Republicans left?
