"Behold, thou wilt remember the poor, & consecrate of thy properties for their support that which thou hast to impart unto them... for the purpose of purchasing lands for the public benefit of the church, and building houses of worship, and building up of the New Jerusalem"

Joseph Smith as American Napoleon was what opened up the Mormon Cosmos to me-- Early Mormonism was cool as hell. Brigham Young didn't have the Vision that Joseph Smith had. He just turned it into another flavor of Episcopalian/Anglican/Papistry.

Ironically, Joseph Smith was one of the earliest people to say "Land Back" -- but he meant it in a much more Revolutionary sense because the Indians were fighting the US Army & the Mormons sided with the Indians-- Joseph Smith wanted to have a revolution. josephsmithpapers.org/paper-summary/…

"our western tribes of Indians are desendants from that Joseph that was sold into Egypt, & the Land of America is a promised land unto them and unto it all the tribes of Israel will come with as many of the gentiles as shall comply with the requesitions of the new covenant"

Actually, most of Joseph Smith's cosmology is inspired by the many preachers he heard in the "Burning District" (Imagine a corporeal "forum" like Twitter where everyone is preaching everything imaginable)-- key one being Handsome Lake: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handsome_…

Joseph Smith just really wanted to be the Napoleon for the Native Americans to Re-Establish America on *True* Christian Fraternity & Liberty (Communism)

Here's a Red Jacket sermon (Red Jacket, the American Communism exudes from the very name)
