Izuku hates lying to his mom, so eventually he learns to play alone. When the other kids get invited to sleepovers and birthday parties, Izuku instead goes to the forest.

It's not too far away from their neighborhood, he can easily go there after lunch and be back on time for dinner. He stuffs some of his comic books, snacks and sketchbooks in his backpack.

Izuku learns that Kirishima the cat is here on Katsuki's mother's insistence. Apparently, when she found out that Kacchan is planning to regularly visit Izuku and 'his world', she insisted for him to not go alone.

In the next few times they come back, he learns that Kirishima is not really a cat, but he's something else. He only changes his form into something that 'humans can comprehend in their world' when they visit Izuku.
