これには明確な理由があって、かつて存在した二人称の敬語は多用されすぎて敬意を失い、その究極形態として「二人称代名詞の使用回避」自体が敬意の証になったからですね 日本語の「お前」「貴様」「あなた」もすべてこの運命をたどりました 類例は東南アジアの言語に比較的よく見られます <a target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/polandball_2003/status/2038916160012579246" color="blue">x.com/polandball_200…</a>
さらに英語の二人称代名詞も古くは単数がthou系列、複数がyou系列で、本来「単数のyou」は敬意表現でした しかしyouは使用が当たり前になって敬意が消え、thouは廃れました 元々常敬の差が小さい言語だったこともあってかyouが一応は中立の地位に留まっている点が日本語や韓国語との違いですね
韓国語だと당신(dangsin, 当身)も古くは敬意を込めた表現だったようですが今では日本語の「あなた」ほどの状態になっていますね
