"Oh." Jungkook's smile grows. "I mean... Obviously it was rewarding. But do you realise what you saying you love me means to me?" Taehyung's eyes soften some more, and he teases. "From that Kim Taehyung cupboard you have at home... Yeah I kind of have an idea."
"Hey!" Jungkook blushes. "You can't use that against me. I was an obsessed fan before I became your lover." It only makes Taehyung laugh harder, before it is interrupted by a phone call. "Huh? Director Kang?"
Somehow, Jungkook gets more excited than him. He gasps. "Is it a new role? Pick up!" Taehyung smiles. After his last break up, he had started doubting everything about himself, including his acting skills. He picks up the phone, and presses it to his ear. "Hello!"
And Jungkook glances his way for the next several seconds and tries to decipher what they're talking about from Taehyung's expression. At the end of the phone call, Taehyung looks very obviously happy and is nodding, before he ends the call.
"So...?" Jungkook asks. "Good news?" "Jeon Jungkook-ssi." Taehyung sighs dramatically, throwing his head back as the wind blows through his hair. "How would you like to have a detective genius boyfriend?"
Jungkook's lips pull up into a smile. "Wow. Your portfolio really has range, hyung." "It sounds like an amazing role. He asked me to meet him over coffee so we can discuss it, but it's more or less confirmed." Taehyung smiles. "Jungkook... I've still got it, right?"
Jungkook frowns. "What do you mean?" "Like... I'm turning thirty. The industry will still want me, right?" Taehyung asks. Jungkook scoffs. "The industry won't see someone as hot and charismatic as you for decades to come, hyung. What are you even talking about?"
Taehyung bites back a smile, and fondly looks at Jungkook as his heart fills up with warmth. Jungkook is always so reassuring, and always believes in him so much. Taehyung never, ever wants to have to live without him anymore.
"You are so talented. When you're in a movie, that movie is set to become a success. How can you even doubt yourself like that?" Jungkook scoffs. "I'll fight you." That makes Taehyung laugh out loud. "Alright, alright. I'm sorry."
"You literally just bagged a role, you bagged the... Hottest footballer as your man." Jungkook himself chuckles after saying that. "And you're doubting yourself? Of course you've still got it. You're only getting better and better, hyung." "Okay. Sorry I doubted myself."
"Yeah." Jungkook says, still frowning. "Don't do it again. All of this won't happen under Jungkook's watch." "Okay, sir. I'm so sorry." Taehyung leans in, and presses a kiss to his shoulder. "Sorry I doubted your boyfriend."
"H-hyung!" Jungkook gasps, sunglasses almost falling off. "I'm driving! At least warn me you're going to kiss me." Taehyung smacks him again. "It was only on your shoulder." "Ow. So what?" Jungkook chuckles. "It has the exact same effect on me as anything you do." 💭💭💭💭💭
They spend the day sightseeing at the beautiful Nami Island. They walk through the paths lined on both sides by tall trees, go boating as well as ride bicycles together, side by side. Everything about the trip is fun so far.
It doesn't just feel like a romantic getaway. It also feels like a trip with a best friend, because of how close Jungkook and Taehyung have become, and how comfortable they are with each other already. And Taehyung wonders just how much better it's going to get.
They're sitting by the river in the evening as it's starting to get dark, snuggled up together on a bench. Jungkook has his arm around Taehyung, and Taehyung is leaning his head on Jungkook's shoulder. "I love this." Taehyung smiles. "I love being here with you."
"I love you." Jungkook bites back a smile. "And anything that has to do with you. So naturally, I love this trip too." It makes Taehyung chuckle. "Idiot. Are you full, by the way? Or should we get some more corn dogs before we head back? I know you'll get hungry again."
"I am full, thank you very much." Jungkook says, and leans his head against Taehyung. "But I have insatiable hunger when it comes to you." Taehyung fondly rolls his eyes. "You should be the one doing movies instead of me, I think."
Jungkook smiles. "Jungkook-ah..." Taehyung begins. "This is nice, right? Us...?" "Nice?" Jungkook asks. "You knkw that's the understatement of the century." Taehyung bites back a smile. "So this is... Long term, right? Because I want it to be."
Jungkook frowns. "Long term?" Taehyung lifts his head and looks at Jungkook, a little confused and briefly nervous. What does Jungkook mean by that? When all he always does is show Taehyung how much he means to him? "Umm..."
"What do you mean long term?" Jungkook asks again. "Just say marriage. You aren't planning on never marrying me, right?" Taehyung narrows his eyes as relief washes over him. For some reason, his eyes sting a little with tears as he looks away and chuckles. "Silly."
