the fox pup is absolutely tiny and fuzzy in a way that only newborns are. it is so young that its little ears are still soft and floppy. its grey eyes are barely open and it blearily looks at lqr.

lwj and lxc are both curious about the visitor. neither of them are old enough to morph into their human forms yet—although lqr suspects lxc will be able to, any-day now—so they both crowd around the basket in dragon form, their lil white snouts twitching as they sniff the pup.
the pup is too young—or weak?—to sniff back. it can only squirm. it shuffles half-blindly among the blankets and lets out a small, pitiful squeak.

the next hour is spent juggling between calling cssr's cell for the nth time, panic-searching online for how to care for baby foxes, and holding the little fox pup inside his shirt, against his skin, so that it can be warm.
