Jungkook runs towards Jimin as soon as he sees him going towards his class and jumps on his shoulders.

“Hey youuuu.. why are you all by yourself huh?? Where's your..” he air quotes, “soulmate. Still hiding under his bed or what?” Jungkook smirks.

Taehyung didn't show up after the last prank he pulled. He didn't even retaliate. Which is so unlike Taehyung. And so.. it makes Jungkook wonder where Taehyung could be. Now he cannot ask Taehyung's friends directly about his whereabouts because they were not friends.

Forget friends, they are not even close. Academic rivals at best.

“Not in the mood Jungkook. Get off my back.” Jimin shrugs off Jungkook's arm from his shoulder.

“No wait! Seriously, where is he? I have so many new ideas to pull off on him.

How would I do that if he keeps hiding like that?”
Jimin stops and takes a deep breath before turning. “Find someone else for your stupid pranks Jungkook, because Tae is gone.”

Jungkook frowns, “Gone? Where did he go? Is he visiting his family?”

“So you really don't know?” Jimin asks, a little amused. Jungkook shakes his head in denial.

“Tae took a transfer. He went to the States. He'll continue his studies there.” Jimin gives him a tight lipped smile.. feeling sad inside as his best friend left the country.

His emotions are valid because that's his best friend. But Jungkook's? Why is Jungkook gaping like a wish out of the water?

“Is this some new prank from him? I swear I'm gonna break his nose.” Jungkook says.. sounding a lot serious all of a sudden.

“Sure. But you have to go to the States for that. We even had a farewell party for him last Saturday. It was just close friends so don't mind if he didn't invite you.” Jimin turns back to go to his class. “Goodbye Jungkook.”

Jimin leaves Jungkook alone with his thoughts all over the place. Taehyung left? For real? Jungkook is Taehyung's nemesis.. and his secret one sided lover. Yes.. he's been pinning over Taehyung since the moment he saw him.

But he goes all love sick puppy mode whenever he acts on his feelings. So he pretends to be this cool.. confident stud that he is. He tries to match what Taehyung stands for. Taehyung is extremely cool and extremely hot and on everyone's love radar.. be it girls or boys.

And Jungkook has to compete with each and every person who drools for Taehyung. So he puts extra efforts to have Taehyung's attention and he wins every freaking day. Taehyung notices him everyday. He even looks (glares) at him too.

And if Jungkook gets lucky.. Taehyung talks (curses) to him too. And now Taehyung is just… gone? Just like that? Jungkook didn't even get to tell him about his feelings.. confess about his ever blooming love for him.

It didn't sting much when he realised that Taehyung didn't invite him to his farewell party.. because they were not ‘close friends’ but the fact that he didn't even get to see him one last time before Taehyung left.. hurts like hell.

The bell rings and brings Jungkook back from whatever shock he went into. With a deep breath and moist eyes.. he goes back to his class.

A month. It takes Jungkook a whole freaking month to get Taehyung's number. He befriended JIMIN first which was very easy and then they got so close to the point where Jimin could trust Jungkook with his phone.

And once Jungkook found Jimin's phone all alone.. he forwarded Taehyung's number to himself and deleted the message from Jimin's side. A great success. Even though his intentions to befriend Jimin was only for Taehyung's contact number…

He did get pretty close with all of Taehyung's friends. They would let him crash at their place whenever he didn't feel good. Jin cooked him food.. Namjoon helped him with studies. Yoongi took him in the basketball team and Hoseok helped him in his dance classes.

Jungkook wonders what the hell he was doing all this time without these guys. And now that Jungkook has finally gotten Taehyung's number.. the only other thing he needs is… courage. To text him.

*two hours later*

Jungkook picks up the call on the last ring.

“Without any bullshit.. tell me what's going on.” Taehyung says.. not caring enough to even say a Hi.

Jungkook sniffs, “I miss you.”

“I said cut the crap Jungkook.” Taehyung wipes his hand on his face when Jungkook says nothing. He waits.

“Did I really annoy you so much that you had to leave?” Jungkook asks in a small voice.. barely audible over the music in the background.

“You're not important enough for me to leave my country for you, Jungkook. I had to leave because my Dad wanted me to come here and I can't say no to him. Now what's with you? What's this new drama?”

Even though it stung when Taehyung said he's not important enough.. it also felt good knowing that Taehyung didn't leave because of him.

“I'm going through a heartbreak.” Jungkook whispers.

“I didn't know you were in a relationship. What happened? Did he cheat?”

Taehyung asks, genuinely interested because he had no idea Jungkook had a boyfriend.

Jungkook shakes his head in denial as if Taehyung can see him. “No. He.. he just left without telling me.” Jungkook sobs.. his breath coming out ragged. “He didn't even meet me.”

Taehyung doesn't know what to say.. he doesn't know how to console someone who got his heart broken. But he still tries.

“Did you try to talk to him? Why did he leave? There must be some reason why he left, right? Can you stop crying first?”

And like an obedient child.. Jungkook takes a deep breath.. a little in control than before.

“I'm talking to him. He told me he left because his father told him to.”

Taehyung sighs, “then Jungkook.. you cannot do anything about … wait! Are you talking about me? Jungkook. What the hell??”

“Of Course I'm talking about youuuu who else” Jungkook whines, starting to get a little too wasted for his likings.

“Okay I think you have gone crazy. You're way too drunk and not at all in your senses. So I'll call it a ‘drunk mistake’ and let it slide. Now go home.. and sleep.”

“I'm not drunk talking. I drank.. so that I can do the talking. So that I can talk to you.”

Jungkook realizes it's a now or never kind of chance. He must confess.

“You never needed alcohol to talk to me before. You'd have that stupid smirk on your face and then you'd look me in the eye. Were you high all that time too?”

Taehyung doesn't know what's going on or where they're heading with this conversation.

“I could talk to you back then because I was not honest with you about my feelings. This time.. I realize it takes a lot of guts to confront your feelings. So I drank.

And now that it's working.. I want to tell you that.. I love you.” there's a pause and then, “I.. I think I'm falling.”

And before Taehyung could say anything.. there's a dull ‘thud’ that has Taehyung frowning.

“Jungkook?? Hello.. Jungkook!!” Taehyung pulls his phone back to check if the call is still on.. and it is. “Jungkook answer me, you fool.” But Jungkook doesn't. Taehyung cuts the call and redials Jungkook's number.. only to be picked up by someone else.

The guy told Taehyung that Jungkook has passed out and is snoring on the floor. Taehyung asks him to take Jungkook to a safer place and stick with him till he sends someone to pick Jungkook up. The guy was kind and did exactly what Taehyung told him to.

Taehyung calls Jimin next and tells him to drag Jungkook back and Jimin does with no questions asked.

*next day*

Taehyung calls Jimin and the latter takes a lot of time to pick up the call.. it makes Taehyung anxious.
“Hey Tae.. sorry everyone's here and it's chaos so I didn't hear the ring.”

“It's okay Chim.. what're you guys doing?”

“We're having a movie marathon since it's Saturday.. so we all are at Jin hyungs place. What about you? What are you doing?” Jimin asks.. going to a secluded place to hear Taehyung better.

“Nothing special.. just the regular you know. So.. everyone's there?”

Taehyung tries to not be obvious.

“Not everyone actually since Jungkook is sick. So it's just us.”

Taehyung freezes for a moment, “Jungkook is sick? What happened?”

“I don't know.. he didn't even come to the college.. when I called he didn't even pick up. Later he texted that he's sick. Jin hyung even went to his dorm but he didn't open up. Said he doesn't want us to catch the germs.”

Taehyung knows these are just excuses. There's no way Jungkook is sick. He must be crying his eyes out.

“Hmm.. I hope he gets well soon. You go have fun. I need to take care of something.” Taehyung cuts the call and opens Jungkook's chat.

And finally it's D-DAY. Taehyung is coming back and Jungkook can't keep his calm. They all are at the airport.. eagerly waiting for Taehyung. The flight has landed and they can expect Taehyung any second now. Jungkook has bought a bouquet of tiger lilies for Taehyung.

He was so excited when he bought the bouquet but as the time comes closer.. his hands are shaking. This is the first time Jungkook will be seeing Taehyung as his boyfriend. This is the first time he won't fake his personality in front of him. He doesn't know what to expect.

How to react. All he's trying to do is not faint because of the nerves. Jungkook is the first one to see Taehyung. His heart stops. This is happening. He can't run anymore. Still, he panics and..

“Hyung can you hold this.. I need to tie my shoe laces.”

Jungkook hands over the bouquet to Yoongi and crouches down.. pretending to be busy with his laces.

“Taetae!!” Jimin shouts and catches everyone's attention. Jimin runs before anyone and jumps on Taehyung when the latter comes close.

Taehyung has a huge boxy grin on his face.. his eyes almost closed as he hugs Jimin close. Jimin caresses Taehyung's head..

“We missed you so much.”

“I missed you all too..”

And then everyone hugs Taehyung one by one.

“You missed so many silly parties, Tae.”

Hobi says when he pulls back from the hug. Yoongi shoves the bouquet in Jungkook's hands,

“Jungkook brought flowers for you Tae..” and pushes Jungkook towards Taehyung. Jungkook's eyes widen when the distance between them minimizes.. coming face to face with Taehyung.

“W-welcome back.” Jungkook manages to stutter and holds out the flowers for Taehyung.

“That's so sweet of you Jungkook.” Taehyung takes the flowers, brushing his fingers against Jungkook's. Jungkook's breath hitches. It was a fleeting touch.. yet it sends shivers down his spine.

He glances up.. only to find Taehyung's eyes on him. He looks away when his face feels warm.

Taehyung bites back a smile when Jungkook's face flushes the prettiest shade of pink. So cute. This is not the Jungkook he left behind. But this is the Jungkook he fell in love with.

Jungkook looks even prettier with his long hair and bangs. Taehyung wishes he could go back in time and look past his hatred and see how beautiful Jungkook is.

“Let's go guys.. me Jin and hobi are taking Jin’s car.. you guys take the other one okay?”

Namjoon walks ahead.. followed by the others. Jimin and Yoongi take the front seats in Yoongi’s car. Jungkook opens the door for Taehyung as the latter is holding his coat in one hand and the bouquet in the other. Jungkook rounds the car and comes to sit beside Taehyung.

He still refuses to look Taehyung in the eyes. Too shy to even say something. Taehyung adjusts his coat on his lap.. throwing it half over Jungkook's legs. Then he very sneakingly slides his hand under the coat and holds Jungkook's pinky in his hands.

Jungkook freezes but doesn't pull away. He lets Taehyung drag his hand and rest it on his thighs.

“Where am I staying?” Taehyung asks.. looking at the scenery through the window.

“Jungkook's roommate is out of town so he has an extra bed. You can adjust there..

Or if you want we can arrange something else as well.”

“No need. I will adjust with Jungkook.” Taehyung feels warmth spread in his heart when Jungkook slots his fingers with Taehyung's.. holding his hand for dear life.

Both nod and participate in the conversation happening in the car but there is one more conversation happening under the coat that no one is aware of except Taehyung and Jungkook. Silent dialogues spoken through gentle strokes of Taehyung's thumb on Jungkook's palm..

Writing ‘ily’ again and again with his fingertips. In some time they reach Jungkook's dorm. Jungkook feels Taehyung's eyes on him in the elevator but none makes any move or say any word.

Jungkook drags Taehyung's luggage out of the elevator and towards his door..

Taehyung follows wordlessly. Jungkook opens the door and Taehyung enters the place.. closing the door behind him. It's just Taehyung and Jungkook now. No one else. Nowhere to go. The tension thickens between them. Both of them waiting for the other to break.

It happens almost simultaneously when Taehyung's hands reach for Jungkook's waist and Jungkook's hands cups Taehyung's face.. pulling each other in the softest and deepest kiss. Taehyung's palms slide over Jungkook's back.. pulling him closer.

Jungkook tilts his face to slot his lips better with Taehyung. Taehyung takes a step backward when Jungkook takes a step forward without breaking the kiss. Taehyung walks back until he can and sits on the bed behind him.. pulling Jungkook along on his lap.

Jungkook goes easily.. straddling Taehyung's thighs as his lips stay busy with Taehyung's. They pull back when their lungs burn with the absolute need of oxygen. Taehyung pulls him in a hug.. burying his face in Jungkook's chest.

“I missed you so much.”

He murmurs. Jungkook presses several kisses on Taehyung's shoulder.

“I missed you too.. missed you so much Tae.” He pulls back from the hug and holds his face.

“Let me see you.. it's been so long.”

Taehyung chuckles, “you saw me everyday baby.”

Jungkook turns scarlet at the pet name.

“This is different.”

Taehyung hums, “yeah.. this is different.” He pecks Jungkook's lips, “so different and so good.”

Jungkook traces Taehyung's with his thumbs.. admiring the pretty moles.

“You're so beautiful Tae, this is the first time I'm looking at you from this close.”

Taehyung smiles, “talk about yourself..” Taehyung tucks Jungkook's curls behind his ear.. his knuckles stroking Jungkook's soft cheeks. “You're gorgeous yourself.”

They look into each other's eyes, unable to look away now that they have each other's attention.. and lean again to press their lips together.

“Don't leave me again like that.. please.” Jungkook whispers between the kisses.

Taehyung tightens his arms around Jungkook with a promise, “never again.”
