This is Tim Ferriss. He wrote the most clickbait book of the 2000s...

The norm is to work a 9-5 job
It's a lie. Jobs are taking more & more time. Many jobs are 16 hour work days with no weekends
What's weird is to do 4 hours of work a day in a flow state
The 9-5 version of "being productive" is B.S
It is designing a life that allows you to do what you want with high leverage, with many options, all while feeling unrushed”
Instead of being productive to get rich, try getting wealthy to buy back your time.
Free time lets you go slow.
Life goes from 8-bit clarity to 4K when you slow down.
Notice how in public everyone is looking at a phone?
Now you know why IQ & attention spans are plummeting
Notifications and newsfeeds make you a dumbass
To be focused you must ruthlessly ignore distractions. Turn off the phone dopamine factory
Being 'interested' is unproductive.
There's not enough motivation to give a sh*t.
Find one obsession & chase it. It'll automate your motivation & make you feel unstoppable.
More often than not it shows you exactly what you should do”
To-do lists are full of fear.
The actions you're afraid to take have the highest gains. Choose them. Start small.
Feel the fear & take the hard action anyway if you want to be successful.
Being busy is most often used as a guise for avoiding the few critically important but uncomfortable actions"
I don't trust busy people. Get the F away from them
Serious people have clear goals & don't use excuses like "I'm busy"
To-do lists are full of junk.
Define one outcome that must be achieved each day & life will get 10x easier.
Think about all the bad habits you have.
Make a list of them.
Now commit to *not* doing them.
Congrats. Now video games & Netflix won't waste your f*cking life.
Hack: you can ignore 99% of emails & nothing will happen
Emails are other people's obligations given to you.
Even better: hire a virtual assistant to do your emails. You'll gain back years of life
Some people are so lazy it's been years since they did anything notable.
The best way to re-engineer your productivity is to try doing the opposite of your current schedule.
New forms of productivity require you to disrupt old patterns
• Going fast
• Shortcuts
• Cheat codes
...are all red flags
I see it with writers all the time. They want 10 years of writing success in 30 days
Expand your time horizon. 5 years works well for me.
"What 20% of sources are causing 80% of my problems and unhappiness?"
"What 20% of sources are resulting in 80% of my desired outcome and happiness?"
Now you know what to focus on.
If it’s important to you and you want to do it 'eventually,' just do it & correct course along the way"
• Now is the best time
• Waiting for 'someday' is how you die with regrets
• It's never a good time to do anything.
