a-ning who rides the train to and from home every day. he's unaware of how many people eye him on it, how sleazy and lustful gazes undress him with need. but they never act upon it because of the man who keeps watch over a-ning.

a-ning has seen him a few times; he's the only man who has ever caught a-ning's attention. but he always looks away when they make eye contact because the man's so handsome with his dark violet eyes and dimpled smile.

he thinks the man's just being nice and leaves it at that.

but what he doesn't know is that the man watches him until he gets off the train. glares daggers at anyone who even dares to think of approaching a-ning.

the last man who tried ended up beaten half to death, tossed in an alley somewhere.

the people on the train know they can–

only look and never touch. that the man is simply allowing them that grace of beholding such a youthful, sweet beauty.
