Most people think UFOs are spacecraft from another star system.
Terence McKenna didn’t buy it.

The idea of aliens arriving in nuts-and-bolts ships to trade, invade, or evangelize is just a modern myth.
One that started after WWII, and it doesn’t hold up anymore.

There are too many encounters, too many types of encounters.
Craft, orbs, abductions, missing time, telepathy, synchronicity, psychic residue.
It doesn’t act like a physical investigation.

It behaves like a psychological intervention.

Carl Jung wrote about this in 1953.
He didn’t say UFOs were fake, he said they might be real dreams.
Symbols with shape and light that speak to the unconscious.
A “mandala in the sky” reflecting humanity’s yearning for wholeness.

He says if it were just psychological, that wouldn’t explain how real the experience feels.
People don’t walk away from dreams with burns, radiation, or completely restructured belief systems.

McKenna goes on to state that this isn’t research, it’s something deeper.

UFOs may be a control system, an intelligence that guides us by interfering with belief itself.
McKenna called it the cosmic trickster.
