1/ The earliest Qur'anic manuscripts actually contain variants in the consonantal skeleton (rasm). This is not qira'at. Here we are speaking about variants in the fundamental consonantal structure of the Qur'an going back to the earliest times. Source: Sidky (2020) #Quran
2/ Michael Cook and Marijin van Putten have confirmed these consonantal variants could only have been caused by SCRIBAL ERROR. However, since these errors appear in the earliest copies, it's now not possible to get back to the 'original' Qur'an. #Quran #Rasm

5/ So the Qur'an is not "Perfectly Preserved" even in it's most fundamental structure. The dawah pumped out for decades (and which is still sometimes seen among dawah-sufferers until this day) is completely false. Muslims will immediately counter: "bUt YoU hAve vAriAnts In thE BiEbEL!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣" To which we will have to point out: "we know, but it's not the same since we were not the ones to promote this ridiculous and false idea of 'Perfect Preservation, not a DOT different'.
It's important to never forget past dawah falsehoods. As more of their errors get exposed the more they incrementally change the goalposts and try to memory hole past failures. But they are always behind the curve. And they always WILL be behind the curve since to perceive the true status of Islam is to know it is false and to leave it. ✝️
