The "Perfectly Preserved" Qur'an is a myth. The modern Qur'an (1924 Cairo Edition) used by 93% of Muslims worldwide was NOT based on early manuscripts. It was reconstructed from **secondary literature** written CENTURIES after Muhammad. Thread exposing the misinformation 🧵👇
(1) The 1924 Cairo Edition was constructed by al-Azhar to standardize one reading: **Hafs an Asim**. 🕌 Why this version? Because it was the *simplest* to recite for Egyptian students. Muslims, if the Qur'an was always "Perfectly Preserved", why did this take 17 YEARS?🤔
(2) They didn’t use early Qur’anic manuscripts. 📖❌ Instead, they relied on books written hundreds of years later: some as late as the **19th century** (1,261 years after Muhammad!). Ancient codices were ignored.
(3) It's not as if they even used the manuscripts of Hafs. No such manuscripts exist.⛓️💥 The earliest of the scholars they drew from lived 400+ years after Muhammad & centuries after Hafs. The modern Qur'an is a **late reconstruction** based on idealized secondary sources.
(4) So much for "not one letter changed." The Qur'an most Muslims read today was founded in a 20th-century committee project using secondary writings extending into the 19th-century‼️ In contrast, modern editions of the Bible are based on careful study of ancient manuscripts.✝️
And let us not forget what they did to the older copies of the Qur'an, after they were replaced by the 1924 Cairo Edition... They sunk them in the river Nile... 🌊📖
