We’ve heard your feedback about hitting limits too quickly on @GeminiApp. We're rolling out several fixes to make your quota stretch further and feel more predictable… 🧵
1/ A bug caused just one or two Omni videos to drain quotas for certain people. We fixed this and will continue to look for opportunities to increase the amount of Omni you get. For example, for our Ultra members, we’ve doubled your number of Omni video generations, effective immediately.
2/ Complex 3.1 Pro prompts, especially when attaching large files, also depleted limits quickly. We’re capping the amount of quota a single prompt can use so you get more out of the Pro model.
3/ To clarify: you won't pay for errors. If a request fails, you won't be charged. Our system mistakes are on us, not you. Your quota is used only for successful completions.
4/ Flash-Lite prompts should be free and won’t count against your quota.
5/ Heavy tasks, like Deep Research, require more compute. To make this clearer, we’re designing more detailed usage breakdowns and notifications to help you maximize your limits.
6/ When you select a specific model, we remember that choice across all future sessions. It will only change if you manually adjust it or hit a cap that triggers an automatic fallback to a lighter model.
