In August 2025, a manufacturing defect with an NZXT Kraken AIO caused coolant to leak onto an ASUS RTX 5090 ROG Astral, ruining both the GPU and motherboard. NZXT admitted the defect in writing, replaced the cooler for free, but only offered the owner $2,855 based on the card’s original launch price but market value for that same model exceeds $3,900. The company kept possession of the damaged hardware, and the user has reported conflicting diagnostic information along with a refusal of independent testing. Seven months later, the matter remains unresolved, the user is pursuing further action, including a potential lawsuit.
