i can spot a grifter from miles away. so i digged into the code to figure out if this is legit or not. guess i was right. ben is a crypto founder who runs some weird bitcoin lending platform, i was pretty sure he knows absolutely nothing about ai and memory so i tracked down the repo myself since i was curious. his website says he likes to build ai powered products and train local ai models? sure man, 80% of your github repo's are bitcoin related stuff. only one ai related project came up you forked in 2024. mempalace has 10k github stars, more than 1k forks but only.. 7 commits ? apparently the best memory layer to date? no git author history, no account connected to whoever wrote the code of this codebase. it doesn't add up.. the account who pushed the original repo, named: aya-thekeeper, under aya-thekeeper/mempal got deleted right after the repo got published. you paid a random guy named lu to build this shit out for you. ( "Written by Lu (DTL) — March 24, 2026. For: Ben." ) - benchmark md file. lu wrote the code. lu wrote the benchmarks. lu is nowhere in the readme. or mentioned in the github history? the git history then got squashed to one commit and published under milla jovovich? seriously? a actress? you say she is a great friend of yours, she has been building this project with you. she does this at night. yet she has.. 7 commits and only 2 active days in her entire github history? you paid an actress and a random guy to promote a product you know absolutely nothing about. <a target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/bensig/status/2041384157595725999" color="blue">x.com/bensig/status/…</a>

since you obviously forgot to delete the messages lu wrote for you on how the benchmark was gamed and you obviously know nothing about memory. let me write for your intended users what your guy lu did. for long mem eval. this is a standard 500 question test made back in october 2024. ( not even relevant anymore as a benchmark but anyways ) he hardcoded specific questions the system was failing at, looked at them directly. then wrote targeted hardcoded fixes for those exact questions. ran the benchmark again. got 100%. ( he wrote this in the benchmark.md file ) funniest of them all: on the locomo benchmark. the dataset has conversations with 19-32 sessions each. lu set the search pool to 50 ( bigger than the number of sessions that exist.) so the right answer is always in the pool by default. you literally cannot get it wrong. published score: 100% the actual one without pooling trick: 60,3% there is a bunch of more stuff mentioned in the .md files and probably also in ghost code. he literally confirmed it that the benchmark was gamed but ben was to stupid to see it and delete it lmao.

i cannot confirm the following take yet but its a pretty common thing to get famous/ semi influential people to be the product facing person and act as if they're the ones building the product. yet in the back its an engineer doing everything. i've had people reached out to me in the past ( mostly famous and or crypto related ) to do this kind of stuff for them as well. always refused to do it, you can smell the grift from a mile away. i once build an entire ai agent system for a startup in silicon valley, they got first on product hunt, didn't even list my name lmao. these people are everywhere man.
