/ Russian forces are struggling to communicate without Starlink, according to a commentary by Russia's prominent warblogging channel Rybar on Telegram. It says that Ukraine's position has improved and its losses have fallen due to the shutdown of Starlink for Russian forces. ⬇️

/ Rybar writes: "A month and a half has passed since Starlink ceased operation for Russian troops in the Special Military Operation. The situation has partially stabilised in some areas, but the overall problems remain.

/ "Elon Musk's terminals provided essential communication and operational efficiency on the front lines, as well as supporting the operation of both drones and ground robotic systems.

/ "The shutdown of Starlink for the Russian Armed Forces was a real gift for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and a very timely one at that. This was caused not only by the Geran [drone]'s ability to film Lviv and Kyiv, but also by the impact on Ukrainian losses.

/ "According to confidential reports submitted by the so-called Ukraine to Western countries, FPV drones and their deployment through Starlink were the key factor in the increased Ukrainian losses. Given the manpower shortage, this was significant.

/ "The impact of the Russian Armed Forces' terminal shutdown is reflected in the same documents: the authors note that by March 2026, the overall level of Ukrainian Armed Forces losses had significantly decreased compared to the periods of 2023 and 2024.

/ "This is partly due to the overall reduction in personnel on the line of contact, but the loss of access to Elon Musk's product had a significant impact.

/ "Against this backdrop, the so-called Ukraine's position on the front has improved, and given the lack of progress in negotiations (and Russia's principled position on the territorial issue),…

/ …the British [sic] are already actively preparing scenarios for a new Ukrainian offensive." /end Source: t.me/rybar/78838
